26 Time Zo nes Once you have se t your time zo ne, date a nd time, you d o not need to r eset the clo ck each time you trav el to another time zone. Ju st set the ti me zone to the o ne of your de stination, and the camcord er automat ically adju sts the clock.

75 Advanced Functions Playback E Displaying the Data Code The camcorder ma intains a data code containing r ecording dat e and time and othe r camera data such as sh utter spee d and exposure (f-stop) . When you play ba ck a tape, you can displa y the data code an d select the da ta code combinat ion you wish to display .
76 End Search When you have p layed bac k a tape, you ca n use thi s function to locate t he end of t he last recorded sc ene. Avai lable only i n the mode. In stop mode, pr ess the EXP butt on. • “END SEARCH” appears . • The camcorde r rewinds/fas t forwards th e tape, plays back t he last few sec onds of the recordin g and stops the tape.

90 Playing Back/Searching Images Y ou can dis play images one after another (s lide show) or 6 at one time (i ndex scree n). With the Ca rd Jump functi on, you can q uickly locate an image without displaying them one by one. Avai lable only i n the mode.
91 Advanced Functions Digital Came ra Functions E Protecting Ima ges Y ou can pr otect important images fro m accidental era sure when disp laying a s ingle image or index screen. If a memory car d is formatte d, all stil l images and movi es, even pr otected ones , will be erased permanent ly .
92 Erasing Ima ges Y ou can era se images one at a time or all at on ce. Be careful when eras ing images . Erased i mages can not be reco vered. Protected i mages canno t be erased. Movies can onl y be erased when t he first sce ne is display ed as a still im age.
93 Advanced Functions Digital Came ra Functions E F or matting a Memor y Card Format new memor y cards, or when you get the mess age “CARD ERRO R”. Y ou can also format a memory c ard to erase al l data recorded on i t. Formatting a memory card eras es all data, incl uding prote cted images .
94 Editing R ecor ding to a V CR or Digital Video De vice Y ou can copy your recordi ngs by connect ing the camcor der to a VCR or a digi tal video device (DVD rec order , another di gital camcorder, etc.). If you conne ct a digital vid eo device, y ou can copy recordings with virtua lly no genera tion loss in image an d sound quality .
95 Editing E We r ecommend poweri ng the camco rder from a household po wer source. When connecting a VCR, th e quality of the edited t ape will be slightly lower than that of the original.
