4 Safety instructions The safety of AEG electrical appliances conforms to accepted rules of technology and the Appliance Safety Act. We as manufactur er s, however , see ourselves as being obliged to familiarise you with the following safety instructions.
5 ● The water in your dishwasher should not be used for drinking. Detergent residues may still be pr esent in your machine. Make sur e you do not splash these caustic residues onto your skin or suffocate your self! K eep children well away fr om your dishwasher when its door is open.
Marking of plastic parts for graded r ecycling: all plastic parts in your machine are marked with internationally standar dised abbr eviations (e.g. <PS> for polystyrene). When your machine is disposed of, this enables plastic waste to be sorted into individual types for environmentally conscious recycling.
7 Economical and ecological dishwashing ● Only connect the dishwasher to the hot water supply if your hot water is not electrically heated. ● Ensure that the water softener is corr ectly adjusted. ● Do not pre-rinse under running water . ● Select the wash progr amme to suit the natur e and degree of the soiling on the dishes.

10 Befor e using your dishwasher for the first time 1. Ensure that the electrical and water connections comply with the installation instructions. 2. Remove all packaging from inside the appliance. 3. Set the water softener . 4. P our 0,5 l of water inside the salt container and then fill with salt.
11 Level 1 If your water is "level 1" it is already soft and ther efor e there is no need to use salt. Level 2 If your water hardness is "level 2", only r egener ating salt will be necessary . It is not necessary to set the water hardness level on the machine.
12 Filling with special salt Caution! The packaging of dishwasher salt and detergents ar e often very similar . The accidental filling of the salt compartment with detergent would ruin the water softener . Each time you add salt, make sure the carton you have in your hand really is salt.
13 Salt r efill indicator The salt container will requir e topping up periodically . The salt cap has a refill indicator window in the centre. A green floater is clearly visible when there is salt inside the container , and almost disappears when the salt has finished, reminding you to add salt.
14 Adjusting the dose The correct dosage of the rinse-aid should be regulated on the basis of the shine and drying results. For this purpose, set the quantity of liquid by means of the six-position selector (C) located on the inside of the filler opening (minimum quantity is position 1, maximum quantity is position 6).
15 Loading cutlery and dishes Sponges, household cloths and any object that can absorb water may not be washed in the dishwasher . For washing in the dishwasher the following cutlery/dishes are not suitable: ● Cutlery with wooden, horn, china or mother of pearl handles.
16 The lower basket The lower basket is designed to take saucepans, lids, plates, salad bowls, cutlery etc. Serving dishes and large lids should be arr anged ar ound the edge of the basket, ensuring that the upper spray arm can turn fr eely .
17 Cutlery should be placed in the removable cutlery basket with the handles facing downwards. If the handles pr otrude fr om the bottom of the basket, obstructing the lower spray arm, load the cutlery with the handles facing downwards. Mix spoons with other cutlery to prevent the fr om sticking together .
18 Use of deter gent Attention! Only use detergents specifically designed for use in dishwashers . If using powder detergents pr oceed as follows: 1. Open the dispenser lid by pulling the catch (D). 2. Add the detergent. As all detergents ar e not the same, please pay attention to the dosage instructions from the manufactur er of your brand.
19 Remember that insufficient quantities of detergent will pr oduce poor washing results wher eas an excessive amount of deter gent does not improve washing r esults and is also wasteful.

22 Oper ating instructions 1. Check the filters Ensure they ar e clean and pr operly positioned (see "Maintenance and cleaning"). 2. Check that ther e is rinse aid and salt 3. Load the dishes Remove any scraps of food. Pull the lower basket out and arrange the saucepans, plates and cutlery in it.
23 8. At the end of the washing pr ogramme At the end of the washing progr amme the machine stops automatically . The On/Off indicator light remains on until the On/Off pushbutton is depressed. Wait a few minutes befor e r emoving the dishes; in this way they will be cooler and drying will be improved.
24 Maintenance and cleaning Internal and external cleaning Do not under any circumstances use furnitur e car e products or aggressive cleaners . If necessary , clean the controls only with a soft cloth and pur e warm water . The spray arms do not need cleaning.
25 6. Remove the flat filter (3) from the base of the washing compartment and clean both faces thoroughly . 7. Put the flat filter back in the base of the washing compartment. 8. Place the coarse/fine filter in the microfilter and pr ess together . 9.
26 ...the progr amme does not start ....the machine is noisy ....the door is difficult to close The plug is not properly inserted in the power socket. Insert the plug. There is no curr ent at the socket. The door is not properly closed. Dishes are r attling against each other .
27 ...the wash r esults are not satisfactory Visible lime deposits or white film on the dishes ● Check that the right level of the water softener is setted. ● Check that there is salt. The dishes are not quite dry ● The rinse aid has run out or too little is being used.

29 T echnical data This appliance complies with the following E.E.C. Directives: - 73/23/CEE of 19/0 2/73 (Low Voltage Dir ective) and subsequent modifications; - 89/336/CEE of 03/05/89 (Electr omagnetic Compatibility Directive) and subsequent modifications .
30 Hints for test centr es Before starting any test it is necessary to fill completely with salt the salt container and with rinse aid the rinse aid dispenser .
31 Connection instructions Connecting the water supply ● Y our dishwasher can be connected to either a cold or hot water supply of max. 60°C. ● Never connect your dishwasher to open hot water appliances and continuous flow heaters! Nevertheless we advise you a cold water supply .
32 W ater outlet connection The end of the drain hose can be connected as follows: 1. To the sink outlet siphon, securing it if necessary with a clip. 2. To a wall outlet pr ovided with vent-hole, minimum internal diameter 4 cm. The waste connection must be at a height of between 30 cm (minimum) and 1 00 cm (maximum) fr om the floor .
33 Extension hoses The necessary extension hoses can be obtained from specialist shops or fr om our technical assistance centres. The extension hose must be no longer than 2 metres and its internal diameter must be no smaller than the diameter of the hose provided.
34 W ater protection system To pr otect your dishwasher fr om water damage, it is equipped with a water protection system. Apart from an overflow pr otection, which pr events uncontrolled rising of water in the appliance, it also features two additional devices: ● in the bottom of the machine, this prevents any water leaks in the machine.
