5 Safety information These warnings are pro vided in the interests of your safety . Ensure you fully understand them before installing or using the appliance. Y our safety is of paramount importance. 7 Control knob (to the left) Control knob for regulating the plate at the rear Control knob for regulating the plate at the front. The regulating of heat is graduation-free for both plates on a scale from 1 to 3 . “1” Represents lo west heat “ 3 ” Represents maximum heat.
8 Pilot light Pilot light is acti vated when either of the zones are turned on, and will remain on until the cooking zones are switched of f. Residual-Heat indicator Each plate has a residual heat indicator which remains on as long as the temperature of the cooking zone exceeds 80˚C, e v en if the cooking zone is switched of f.
9 Advice and hints for using the cooking zones If you use the advice below you will save energy and make your cleaning tasks easier. Adjust the cooking zones correctly. Select the highest setting for the cooking zones until the food is brought to the boil.
10 Check whether your cooking utensils has level bases by placing the item in question upside down on a work top and positioning a ruler on the base. A curved base, both inwards and outwards, will prolong the cooking time and increase the energy consumption.
Cleaning and maintenance of For reasons of hygiene and safety, the cooking zones must be kept clean. Grease stains and spilled food generate smoke when heated, and can even cause fire. Never use metal wool, metal sponges or other abrasive cleaning agents.
Tips on the use of the ceramic hob unit Do not slide saucepans across the surface of the hob - alw ays lift the pan when placing it on, or removing it from the ceramic surface. W ipe the bottom surface of the pots and pans with a clean dry cloth before placing them on the ceramic surface.
The decorati ve pattern on the ceramic surface can become scratched and marred with use, depending upon maintenance, but does not adv ersely af fect performance. Such blemishes are not co ver ed by the warranty and do not affect the operation of the hob .
Warnings about electrical connection l Any electrical work requir ed to install this hob should be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent person, in accordance with the current r egulations.
Electrical connection This hob is provided with a connection cable type H05 V 2 V 2 -F T90, section 3 x 1,5 mm 2 . A suitable plug must be fitted to the cable and then connected to a suitable plug, according with spexcification given on the rating plate.
Warnings about building in the hob l Ensure the eventual plastic covering of the furnitur e unit has been fixed with a heatpr oof adhesive (100 ° C heatproof). l Fitting of solid wood panel border s on the working top or behind the hob is allowed provided that minimum distances ar e observed.
Building in Dimensions Cut Out Size The dimensions of the cut-out ar e given in the diagr am. If 30 cm. hobs with differ ent functions must be built in one beside the other (e.g. 2 Plate Hob + 2 burner s Hob), the minimum distance shown in the diagr am must be observed.
30 20 min a Removable panel Securing the hob into the cut out Proper arrangements must be taken in designing the furnitur e unit, in order to avoid any contact with the bottom of the hob which can be heated when it is operated. The recommended solution is shown in diagram.
