4 Important Safety Instructions These warnings ar e provided in the inter ests of your s afety . Ensure you fully understand them befor e installing or u sing the appliance. 5 • Please make old appliances unusable prior to disposal. Pull out the mains plug, cut off the mains cable, break or r emove spring or bolt catches, if fitted. By doing this you ensure that childr en cannot lock themselves in the appliance when playing (there is risk of suffocation!) or get themselves into other dangerous situations.
6 Disposal Appliance P ackaging Information All materials are envir onmentally sound! They can be disposed of or burned at an incinerating plant without danger . About the materials: The plastics can be recycled and ar e identified as follows: >PE< for polyethylene, e.
Installation Installation Location The appliance should be set up in a well ventilated, dry room. Energy use and efficient performance of the appliance is affected by the ambient temperatur e.
8 If your refriger ator is installed under a continuous worktop, an air outlet opening of at least 200 cm 2 and a ventilation grille (A/B) matching the worktop design should be installed at the rear of the worktop. The cut surfaces of the worktop (C) should be varnished to avoid swelling due to penetration of moistur e.
9 Tilt the appliance slightly towards the rear and pr op it securely . Unscrew the door hinge scr ews (K) and remove the hinge pin br acket (1). Open the door a little way and take it out downwards. Unscrew the upper pin (A) and scr ew it into place on the opposite side.
10 Changing over the fr eezer compartment door Open the freezer compartment door a little way . Using a small screwdriver , press the spring in the opening of the lower door bearing slightly upwards and take the door bearing out complete with the door .
11 Electrical Connection Any electrical work requir ed to install this appliance should be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent person. WARNING – THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED The manufacturer declines any liability s hould these safety mea- sures not be observed.

13 Starting up and tempe r atu r e r egulation Insert the plug of the connection lead into the plug socket with p r o- tective earth contact. When the r efrige r ator compartment door is ope- ned, the internal lighting is switched on. The tempe r atu r e selector knob is located on the right hand side of the r efrige r ator compartment.

Defr osting The fridge defr osts automatically The rear wall of the fridge cover s with frost when the compr essor is running, and defrosts when the compr essor is off.
18 Switching off the appliance To switch off the appliance, turn the temper ature r egulator to position "0". If the appliance is not going to be u sed for an extended period: Remove all refriger ated packages. Switch off the appliance by turning the temperatur e regulator to position "0".
Remove frozen food and the food fr om the refriger ator . Wrap fr ozen food in several layer s of newspaper . Store it in a cool place, well covered. Defrost the fr eezer compartment prior to cleaning (see “Defrosting” section). Switch the appliance off and remove the plug fr om the mains, or switch off or turn out the circuit br eaker or fuse.

21 Symptom P ossible Cau se The food is too warm. Temper ature is not properly adjusted. Please look in the “Initial Start Up” section. Remedy Light bulb is defective. Interior lighting does not work. Heavy build up of frost, possibly also on the door seal.
22 Changing the light bulb Warning! Ther e is a risk of electric shocks! Before changing the light bulb , switch off the appliance and unplug it, or pull the fuse or the circuit br eaker . Light bulb data: 220-240 V, max. 15 W To switch off the appliance, turn the temper ature r egulator to position "0".

24 Noises during Oper ation The following noises are char acteristic of refriger ation appliances: • Clicks Whenever the compr essor switches on or off, a click can be heard. • Humming As soon as the compressor is in oper ation, you can hear it humming.
