STEP5: If you nee d the ad apter to o perate w ith better performan ce, place choose O ptimize for perfor mance mode to enable the Tx Bu rst mode . Or you can cho ose O ptimize for W iFi mode to run in standard wireless ne twork . STEP6: Click Install to begin the in stallation.
STEP7: Please w ait f or a while during the adapte r is c onfiguring your new software installation. STEP8: After the setup wizard has s uccessfull y install ed w ireless LAN, click Finish to exit th e wizard.

Ralink w ireless utilit y needs to cooper ate with Micr osoft AutoCo nfig serv ice in order t o perform scanni ng a nd co nnecting action s, so the AutoConf ig servic e should be enabl e beforehand. Control Menu O nce Ra link wireless utility i s min imized, the u ser c an c lick the Ralink icon on the task bar to bring u p the control menu.
LAN adapter an d mon itor the link stat us and st atistics dur ing the com municatio n process. W hen the adapter is install ed, the co nfiguratio n utilit y will be displayed auto maticall y. This adapter will a uto connect to wireless device which has better signal strength and no wireless security settin g.
W hen activ ating W ZC , there are coup le differ ent on RaUI status com pare to the without W ZC running: (1) Profile button w ill be gr ay, profi le f unction is remov ed sin ce the NI C i s c ontrolled by W ZC. (2) The con nect and add p rofile fu nction wil l b e gra y.
STEP1: If conn ection i s lost or not connect ed, the sta tus promp t as below will po p up. STEP2: Right- click the network connection i con in the task bar. STEP3: Selec t “ View Av ailabl e Wireles s Netw orks ” will pop u p the dia log shown a s below.

3.1.1 Start W hen starting R aUI, s ystem will connect to the A P with best sig nal st rength w ithout settin g profile or matchin g profile sett ing. It will i ssue a scan co mmand to w ireless NIC . Af ter two seconds, the AP list w ill updated with the result o f BSS list s can.

AP’s Informat ion Retr y the Con nection Conf iguration At the m ean time of starting RaUI , th ere is a lso a small Ralink icon appears w ithin windows task bar as b elow. You m ay double cli ck it to bring up th e m ain menu if you selected to close RaUI m enu e arlier.
Besides, t he small icon w ill change color t o refle ct current w ireless netwo rk connection stat us. The st atus indi cates as fol low: - - indicate Co nnected a nd Signal St rength is Good.

3.1.3 Net w ork Under the Netw ork functio n, system will disp lay the informa tion of surro unding AP s from last scan resu lt. List informat ion includes SSID, BSSID, Signa l, Ch annel, Encr yption .

3.2.3 Site Survey W hen you open the Config uration Ut ilit y, t he s ystem will scan all t he channels to find all the access points/stations within the ac cessibl e range of y our adapter a nd automatica lly connect to the w ireless d evice with th e h ighest s ignal strength.

3.2.5 WPS Configuration The p rimar y goa l of W i-Fi Protecte d Setup (Wi- Fi Si mple Configu ration) is to simply the security setup and ma nagement of W i-Fi Network s. WPS Associ ate IE: If the “W PS Associate I E” op tion is check ed, station w ill send the association re quest with W PS IE dur ing W PS setup.
Encryption Type : For O pen & Sha red authentication modes, the available encryption types are None and W EP . For WPA , W PA2 , W PA-PSK a nd W PA2-PSK authenticatio n mode s, the availa ble encr yption types are TKIP an d AES .
Disconnect from W PS AP: Clicking the “D isconnect” butt on w ill stop the W PS connection. Delete W PS profile: Cl icking the “Delete” bu tton wil l delete the selected WPS p rofile. 3.2.6 QoS The Q oS Page of RaConfig . It involves “WM M Enable” , “ WMM – Pow er Save Enab le ” and “ DLS setup Enable ”.
