Mounting and Detac hing the Lens The lens mount has a rubber ring for enhanced w ater- and dust-resistance. The rubber ring may cause slight abrasions around the camera's lens mount, but this will not cause any prob lems.
ENG-5 3. Zooming To z oom, turn the zoom ring. Be sure to finish zooming bef ore focusing. Changing the zoom ring after focusing can aff ect the focus .
ENG-6 4. Infinity Compensation Mark Infinity compensation mark Distance index To compensate f or shifting of the infinity f ocus point that results from changes in temperature. The infinity position at normal temperature is the point at which the vertical line of the L mar k is aligned with the distance indicator on the distance scale.
ENG-7 Y ou can attach filters to the filter mounting thread on the front of the lens. 6. Hood • Only one filter may be attached. • If you need a polarizing filter , use the Canon Circular P olarizing Filter (77mm). •T o adjust the polarizing filter, first remo ve the lens hood.
