Chapter 1 Before Using th e Scanner - 2 - 1 • Avoid exposing the scanner to rapid changes in temp erature. If the room in which the scanner is installed is cold but rapidly heated, water droplets (condensation) may form inside the sca nner . This may res ult in a noticeable degradation in scanni ng quality .

Chapter 2 Basic Operation - 10 - 2 IMPORT ANT A document must meet the following criteria to be scannable: • When scanning multiple documents of different sizes, place the documents so that they cover the entir e span of the feed r ollers. • It is recommended that d ocuments exceeding L TR, 11.

NOTE • Documents can be scanned with th e document eject tray closed. • Open the document eject tray when you want to stack output documents.
Chapter 2 Basic Operation - 12 - 2 There are two methods for feed ing documents, the Page Sep aration mode and Bypass mode. Feeding pages con tinuously from a sta ck of documents p laced in the feed tray is called the Page Sep aration mode.

NOTE Before scanning, make sure th at the document is not c url ed or creased, and that it is placed in the feed tray correctly . Scanning an improperly placed, curled, or creased document may damage the document or cause a paper jam.

The side of the folded document facing you wil l become the right side of the combined image.

Chapter 2 Basic Operation - 18 - 2 The Scan Panel is an application that is installed with the ISIS/TWAIN driver . It is displayed in the system tray when the DR-2010C/DR- 2510C driver is started . If Feeding Option in the scan settings is set to [Panel-Feeding] or [Automatic Feeding], the Scan Panel will appear when you start scanning.
