1 User Soft war e CD -ROM About the Drivers and Software MF Drivers Printer driver Y ou can print fr om an application using the machine by installing the printer driver on your comput er . Y ou can process print data at high speed by compressing the print data using the comput er's processing capability.
2 Installing the MF Drivers and MF T oolbo x Install the soft ware to use the machine . • If you are using a 64-bit opera ting system The MF driver and MF T oolbo x for 64-bit operating systems may not be supplied depending on y our country or region.
3 2 Click [Easy Installation]. T o install the follo wing soft ware and manuals that cannot be installed with [Easy Installation], select [Custom Installation] (See p. 7). • Pr esto! PageManager • e-Manual * If the User Manual CD-ROM is supplied with the machine, install the e -Manual from the User Manual CD-ROM.
4 3 Click [Install]. 4 Read the conten ts of the License Agreemen t, and then click [ Y es]. 5 Click [Next]..
5 6 Click [Exit]. Next, installation of MF T oolbox starts. 7 Click [Start]. 8 Click [Exit]..
6 9 Check that [ ] is selected in [Install], and then click [Next]. 10 Restart your computer . (1) Select the [Restar t Computer Now (Recommended)] check box. (2) Click [Restar t]. The CD-ROM may be removed once this screen appears . (1) (2) Connect the USB cable after restarting your computer .
7 Installing with [ Custom Installa tion] 1 Insert the User Sof tware CD-ROM. 2 Click [ Custom Installation]. T he options to be displayed differ depending on your country or region. If the above dialog bo x does not appear Windo ws 2000/XP 1. Fr om the [Star t] menu, select [Run].
8 3 Select the check b o x for the software to be installed, and then click [Install]. T he options to be displayed differ depending on your country or region. T o install the e -Manual, select the [Manuals] check box. * If [Manuals] does not appear , install the e -Manual from the User Manual CD-ROM supplied with the machine.
9 6 Click [Exit]. Next, installation of MF T oolbox starts. If you cleared the [MF T oolbo x] check box in Step 3, MF T oolbox is not installed . Proceed to St ep 9. 7 Click [Start]. The screens for specifying a location in which the MF T oolbox is installed and position to which the star t menu is added appear .
10 The software for which the check box w as selec ted in Step 3 is installed . Follo w the on-screen instructions. 9 Check that [ ] is selected in [Install], and then click [Next]. The options to be displayed diff er depending on your country or region.
11 USB cable connection 1 Remove the cap ( A) on the USB port of the machine. Remove the cap by pulling out the string. (A) 2 Connect the USB cable. • Flat end ( A): Connect to the USB port on the computer. • Square end (B): Connect to the USB port on the machine.
12 Checking the installation results Check that the MF drivers and MF T oolbox are installed correctly . Check that the icons for the installed software is added as f ollows. Software Location Icon Printer driver [Printers and F axes], [P rinters], or [Devices and Printers] f older .
13 How t o Use the Online Help In the Online Help, all the functions of the driver software and information about options are included. If you want to know descriptions of the functions and settings immediately when using the driver software, make use of the Online Help .
14 Appendix Uninstalling the Sof tware If you do not need the printer driver , scanner driver , or MF T oolbox, you can uninstall them with the following pr ocedure.
