ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS A void Electric Shock This appliance has a magnetic plug (that connects to t he deep fr yer) and a 2-prong polarized plug (with one blade wider than t he other) t hat inser ts in the electrical outle t. T o reduce the risk of electric shoc k, t his plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way .

OPERA TIN G Y OUR DEEP FR YER Before Eac h Use T o avoid the risk of electrocution or sev ere disfiguring electrical burns, do not let children handle or put electrical cords or plugs in their mout hs.
5. A TTA C H THE C ORD – Align the magnetic plug end wit h the 3 electrical pins on the bac k of the control unit. The plug has a ledge on it which must be facing down. Angle the plug so t he ledge is in first, then push in rest of plug. Plug the o ther end of t he cord into a suitable 2-prong 1 20-v olt electr ical outlet.
Step 3: BEGIN HEATING Af ter selecting the desired temperature setting, place the cov er on the fr yer and press the Star t/Cancel button on the control panel to star t t he oil heating. (The fr yer chimes once each time t he Star t/Cancel button is pressed.
Step 7: ST ART THE TIMER (Optional) If desired, star t the timer by pressing the Star t/Cancel button. The display will begin to count down the amount of cook time remaining. When cooking is complete and t he timer expir es, the deep fr yer will chime t hree times.
When all fr ying is completed, press and hold the power button for tw o to three seconds. The deep fr yer po wers do wn but enters into sleep mode (with only t he Calphalon logo illuminated on the display panel) indicating that t he fr yer is still plugged in.
If this deep fr yer malfunctions during use, immediately press the S tar t/ Cancel button and the Po wer button to cancel the cycle. Unplug the power cord fr om the electrical outlet. Do no t use or attempt to repair the deep fr yer . Contact Calphalon Cus tomer Ser vice at 1-800-809-7267 for ex amination, repair, or adjustment.

CLEANING AND C ARE Unplug deep fr yer before cleaning. F ailure to do so may r esult in risk of serious injur y and electric shoc k. Before Cleaning 1 . UNPLUG – Car efully unplug the deep fr yer’ s pow er cord from the electrical outlet by firmly grasping the plug.
1 5 ST ORA GE Store the deep fr yer upright on a clean, dr y level surface. The basket handle may be collapsed and stored inside the basket. The po wer cor d may also be remo ved and stored inside the basket. Do not store any materials, other than manuf acturers r ecommended accessories, in the deep fr yer when not in use.
