MAKIN G WIRIN G CONNECTIONS 3 PREC A UTIONS NOTE: In most cases y ou should not cut your vehicle wir e in two. 1. S tr ip back two inches of insulation on the wir e from the r emo te s tarter. 2. Strip back one inch of insulation on t he wir e you need to connect to.
4 6. Use electr ical tape to wr ap. Be sur e to cover t he wir e about two inches on either side of the connection. Fir st pull t he wir e t hat you ha ve jus t connected along side t he wir e you connected to, tape and wire tie t hem toget her . Use this me thod f or all connections.
5 LOC A TING & MAKIN G CONNECTIONS MOUNTING AND CONNECTIN G THE SIREN Select a location under the v ehicle's hood for t he sir en. • The mounting location should be solid and ha ve no moving parts nearby . • For the loudest sound, the sir en should point down.
6 4. Most vehicles use a (-) negativ e switch, but if your does not, y ou will need to t est for a (+) positiv e door pin switch. 5. Connect y our met er or test light's negativ e lead to a good solid chassis ground. Use the positiv e lead or ot her lead probe to the door pin switch wir e.
