Location Y ou need to place your B T Decor 1300 within 3 metres of a telephone socket so that the cable will reach. Y our B T Decor 1300 can be wall mounted, see W all mounting your phone, on page 30. Inserting the batteries T urn the phone over, and remove the battery compartment cover by pressing in on the plastic clip and lifting the cover off.

B T Decor 1300 – Issue 1 – Edition 3 – 22.11.05 – 6901 If your B T Decor 1300 finds an exact match in the Directory for the number you dialled, the name of the person you are calling will be displayed instead of the number. If the number you enter is more than 16 digits, only the last 16 digits will be displayed.
End a call Replace the handset or press the button. Receive a call When you receive a call, the telephone rings and the red calls light flashes. If you have subscribed to a C aller Display service: • the caller’s number will be displayed (if available).
Handsfree mode Making a handsfree call In handsfree mode all communication is via the loudspeaker. 1. Press . The green Handsfree light illuminates and you hear the dial tone. 2. Dial the telephone number. The number is displayed and dialled in handsfree mode.
Press and hold to exit the redial list and return to standby at any time. Secrecy When on a call you can use the secrecy feature to talk to someone in the same room, without your caller hearing. T o switch secrecy on and off 1. During a call, press and release the button.
Redial a number from the redial list 1. Press . The last number called is displayed. 2. Press or to scroll through the redial list. 3. T o dial the number, lift the handset or press or . Or T o exit the redial list without dialling, press to return to standby.
Delete a redial number 1. Press . The last number called is displayed. 2. Press or to scroll through the redial list to the number you want to delete. 3. Press . Save Number is displayed. 4. Press to display Delete Number and press . 5. Number Deleted is displayed.
Dial mode There are 3 dial mode settings. T one/Timed break (TB), T one/Earth (TE) and Pulse/Earth (P). The default setting is T one/Timed break (TB). T urn the phone over and move the Mode Switch to the position you want: P , TE or TB. 15 U sing your phone B T Decor 1300 – Issue 1 – Edition 3 – 22.
Y ou can store 100 names and telephone numbers in your B T Decor 1300’s directory. Names stored in the directory can be up to 16 characters and numbers up to 20 digits long. Directory entries are stored alphabetically. Y ou can also assign directory entries with individual ringer melodies and coloured mood lighting.
View/dial a directory entry 1. Press , then or to scroll to the directory entry you want. Or, to search alphabetically: Enter the first letter of the name you want e.g. for Emma, press twice to display names beginning with E, then scroll using or to the name you want.
‘Normal Melody’ is the default melody setting, i.e. the ringer melody you have set as your main ringer melody, see page 21. There are 4 standard melodies and 6 polyphonic ringer melodies to select from.
Assign mood lighting to a directory entry Y ou can assign mood lighting to a directory number so that when you receive an incoming call from that number, the display on your B T Decor 1300 will light up in the selected colour. The colours you can choose from are Normal Colour, Green, Orange and Red.
4. Press to display Delete Entry and press . 5. Delete Entry Are You Sure? is displayed, press to confirm. 6. Entry Deleted is displayed. 7. Press to return to standby. Delete the entire directory 1. Press . The first alphabetical entry will be displayed.
Ringer volume There are 3 volume settings to choose from: High, L ow or Ringer Off. If Ringer Off is selected, when in standby, the display will show Ringer Off . 1. Press . Ringer Volume is displayed, press to select. 2. The current volume setting is displayed.
Time and date Y ou will need to set the correct time and date so they can be displayed correctly on the display. If you subscribe to a Caller Display service, the time and date will be set automatically on receipt of your first incoming call. Y our B T Decor 1300 uses the 24 hour clock.
Backlight colour There are 3 display backlight colours to choose from: Green, Orange and Red. 1. Press . Ringer Volume is displayed. 2. Press to display Backlight Colour , press to select. 3. Press or to select the colour you want and press to confirm.
If you subscribe to a Caller Display service, your B T Decor 1300’s display shows who is calling (provided the number is not withheld, unavailable or is an international call). If you have stored a name to go with the number in the directory and an exact match is found, the name will be displayed instead.
View the Calls list 1. Press to go straight to the Calls list and view the new calls. The Calls light stops flashing. The details for the most recent call are displayed. The date and time the call was received are displayed together with the caller’s number.
1. Press to view the Calls list. 2. Scroll or to the entry you want. 3. Press . Save Number is displayed, press . 4. Enter Name is displayed. Enter a name using the keypad and press . 5. Edit Number is displayed. If necessary, edit the number using the keypad.
Delete the entire Calls list 1. Press to view the Calls list. 2. Scroll or to display any entry. 3. Press . Save Number is displayed, scroll to display Delete All and press . 4. Delete All Are You Sure? is displayed. Press to confirm. 5. Calls List Deleted is displayed.
The message waiting indicator is activated by a stuttered dial tone which you can hear when you pick up your phone. B T Calling F eatures, such as Call Diversion and Call Barring use a stuttered dial tone so therefore will cause the message waiting indicator to flash even if no messages have been left.
1. Lift the handset and wait for the dial tone. 2. Press . The number is displayed and you will hear the telephone dialling out. After a few seconds you will be connected automatically to your voice mail service. B T Decor 1300 – Issue 1 – Edition 3 – 22.
1. Revolve the handset catch to keep the handset in place when wall mounted. 2. Remove the base plinth by turning the plinth lock switch on the underside of the phone to the ‘unlock’ position and unclip. 3. Drill 2 holes with a 5mm drill for the screws provided, using the template on the back page.
Phone does not ring ■ Check that the telephone line cord is correctly connected. ■ Check that the Ringer is not set to ‘Off’, see page 21. Y our caller cannot hear you ■ Is the red Secrecy light on? If so, secrecy is switched on. Press the button to speak to your caller again.
Safety information ■ Only use the telephone line cord supplied with your B T Decor 1300, otherwise your telephone may not work correctly. ■ Use only the recommended battery type (4 x AA alkaline). ■ Never dispose of batteries in a fire. There is a serious risk of explosion and/or the release of highly toxic chemicals.
Product disposal instructions The symbol shown here and on the product means that the product is classed as Electrical or Electronic Equipment and should not be disposed with other household or commercial waste at the end of its working life.
Guarantee Y our B T Decor 1300 is guaranteed for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase. Subject to the terms listed below the guarantee will provide for the repair of, or at B T’s or its a.
Outside of the 12 month guarantee period: If your product needs repair after the guarantee period has ended, the repair must meet the approval requirements for connection to the telephone network. W e recommend that you contact B T’s approved repair agent, Helpdesk Solutions on 08702 405029 or a local qualified repairer.
T echnical information How many telephones can you have? All items of telephone equipment have a Ringer Equivalence Number (REN), which is used to calculate the number of items which may be connected to any one telephone line. Y our B T Decor 1300 has a REN of 1.
