Set-up .

Set-up Getting set up with BT T otal Broadband is easy . Simply follow the separ ate guide and CD or use this section for more detailed set-up inf ormation.
Set-up Open your Hub box and check you’ve every thing you need to get star ted. Y ou may not need to use all the items enclosed t o set up your broadband. W e’ll explain what you need as you go through this set-up.
Set-up If this is your rst connection to the internet, please go to step 4.
Set-up Y our Hub needs to be plugged into mains power and one of the ADSL lters that you tted in step 4. Plug the broadband cable (gr ey ends) into the Broadband sock et on your Hub and the DSL socket on one of the ADSL lters.
Set-up W ait for your Hub’ s Broadband light to glow blue. This will tak e a few minut es.
Set-up (recommended) Run the CD to help you connect your comput er to your Hub and mak e sure your computer is set up correctly f or using BT T otal Broadband. If you have more than one computer , run the CD on each one to connect it to your Hub.
Set-up > If you don ’t have a wireless adapter or your computer isn ’t wireless-enabled, see page 40 Find your Hub’ s preset network name/SSID and wireless k ey . These are printed on your wireless settings car d (found in your Hub’ s box) and also on the back of your Hub.
Set-up Use your wir eless adapter’s software to set up your wir eless connection – its help function may be useful if you’ re not sure how to do this – or f ollow the instructions for your computer’ s operating system below .

Help Broadband is active, but your Hub can ’t connect to it. Check broadband service status by calling 0800 169 0199. If ser vice is okay , restart your Hub by pressing and releasing the Restart button on the side of the Hub.
Help tr y unplugging the lter and plugging your phone directly into the phone socket – if ther e’s a dial tone this indicates a faulty ADSL lter .
