USERS INFORMATION MANUAL FOR THE OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF YOUR NEW OIL-FIRED FURNACE NOTE TO INSTALLER: This manual must be left with the equipment user.

3 FURNA CE COMPONENTS 2 Heavy-duty blower circulates air across the heat exchanger to transfer heat into the home. Stainless steel combustion chamber/primary heat exchanger. Unique silencer system reduces combustion noise. Heat exchanger designed and shaped to effi- ciently transfer heat from furnace into the home.
4 IMPOR T ANT F A CTS Y our furnace must ha ve adequa te airflo w for efficient comb ustion and safe v entilation. Do not enclose it in an airtight r oom or “seal” it behind solid door s.
5 CHECK AIR FILTER: Before attempting to start your fur nace, be sure the furnace air fi lter is clean and in place. See “Performing Rou- tine Maintenance” section in this manual. Then proceed as follo ws: STEPS F OR STAR TING Y OUR FURNACE 1. Open all w arm air re gisters and make sure that all return-air grills are unobstructed .
6 2. T urn of f all electrical po wer to the furnace. (See Fig. 9.) 9 3. Close oil supply v alve. (See Fig. 10). 10 4. If applicable, turn of f water sup- ply to humidifier . 5. If furnace blo wer will be neces- sary for cooling system, remem- ber to turn electric po wer back on when needed for air condi- tioning.
7 • Check flue and secondar y tube pas- sage ways inc luding chimney — clean if necessar y . • Change oil filter . • Change nozzle . • Check and adjust comb ustion and draft. • Inspect all v ent piping inside str uc- ture for deterioration and v ent termi- nations outside the str ucture for blockage.
