6 12 .Set your thermostat to the temper- ature that satis fi es your comfort requirements. SUGGESTION: Setting the ther - mostat back a fe w de grees and compensating for the dif ference with warmer clothing can mak e a big dif ference in your fuel con- sumption on extremely cold days.
7 FIL TERING OUT TR OUBLE A dirty air fi lter will cause a loss of air fl ow in your duct system. When excessi ve loss of air fl ow occurs, the furnace may c ycle on its safety controls. If this condition is left unattended, the furnace will e v entu- ally lock out.
8 28 COMBUSTION AREA AND VENT SYSTEM V isually inspect the combustion area and vent system before each heating season. Make sure that all PVC pipes leading into the comb ustion area and vent are free from an y cracks and sags. Check the comb ustion-air intake adja- cent to the furnace for blockage.
9 32 33 7. Pour 1 quart of antifreeze into funnel/tube. Antifreeze should run through inducer housing, ov er fi ll condensate trap, and fl o w into open fi eld drain. (See Fig. 33.) 8. Remov e funnel and tube from inducer housing and replace drain connection cap and clamp.
