2 3 INSPECTING YOUR SAFE Upon receipt of your safe, you should immediately inspect it for any damage that may have occurred during shipping. If your safe was commer cially delive red and you detect any damage, call the shipping compan y that deliver ed your safe and report the damage.
4 5 Special fire considerations: Bro wning ProSt eel fire-resistant safes are rated to withstand the time and temperature stated on the rating label. Ho wever , when a home burns some port ions of that fire may burn at more than 2000° F .

8 9 ANCHORING TO A CONCRETE FLOOR Important: Pre-drill the holes in the safe back and flo or prior to anchoring the safe to the floor or wall. 1 Remo ve the safe interior shelving, floor panel and elevation brace. Se e removal instructions under “Shelf Adjustment" on page 18.
10 11 1 Meas ure 2" from the top and ea ch side of the safe’ s top interior corners. Mark these spots on the safe’ s interior w ith a marker (Figure 3). 2 U sing a sharp utility knife cut a 2" x 2" “X” in the carpet where you marked.
12 13 4 Drill down 2" from the top of the safe on each of these stud centers (Figure 4). Mark these spots on the safe’ s interior with a marker .
14 15 Y ou should immediately change the combination of the elec tronic lock from the factor y default code. The lock instr uctions outline the process to program a new electronic lock combination. IMPOR T ANT: Rec ord the combination you select, as the factor y w ill not have any record of the combination you choose.

T o replace a clip, insert the top lip of the clip into the appropriate slot in the track, squeeze the clip together and insert the bottom lip of the clip into the track.
20 21 CARPET The key to removing stains from your carp eted interior is to clean them as soon as they occur . Do not so ak the carpeting with water to remov e stains. Small amounts of water can p ermanently damage the fire-resistant materials w ithin your safe if the water is allowed to soak into the carpeted areas.
