17 Power Supply GETTING STARTED AC Adapter Connect the AC adapt er directly to the P-touch labeler. Insert the plug on the AC adapt er cord into the connector marked DC IN 9-9.5V on the P-to uch labeler. Insert the AC adapter plug int o a standard electrical outlet.

19 Turning Power On/Off GETTING STARTED Insert the tape cassette int o the tape compartment, with t he end of the tape facing the machine 's tape exit slot, and press firmly until you hear a click. Close the tape compartment cover. Press the Power key to turn the P- touch labeler on.
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 20 z GETTING STARTED Feeding Tape Feed & Cut The Feed & Cut funct ion feeds 0.92" ( 23mm) of blank tape then cuts the tape. Hold down the Shift key and press the Preview key. "Feed & Cut?" will app ear on the LCD display.
21 LCD Displ ay GETTING STARTED LCD Contrast You can change the contrast setting of the LCD display to one of five levels (+2, +1, 0, -1, -2) to make t he screen easier to read. The defau lt setting is “0”. Press the Setup key to disp lay the Setup menu, select “LCD Contrast” usin g the or key, and then press the OK or Enter key.

EDITING A LABEL 25 Entering and Editing Text Deleting Text Deleting one character at a time • To delet e a character from an existing line of text, move the cursor to the character to the right of the position yo u want to start deleting text and the n press the Backspace key.

In particular , the “Chain” and “No Cut” options greatly re duce the amount of wasted tape by using smaller margins and eliminating blank sections cu t between labels.

MAINTAINING YOUR P-TOUCH LABELER 71 Maintenance Clean ing the Tape Cut ter Tape adhesive can build up on the cutter blade after repeated use, taking the edge off the blade which may result in the tape jamming in the cutter. • Do not touch the print head directly with your bare hands.
