3 2 Remove the packing materi al fro m the machine a Remove t he packing tape fr om t he out side of the machine. b Open the MP tray a , a nd rem ove the pl astic sheet b from the MP tray support, then close the MP tray. c Press the front cover release button and open the front cover.
4 3 Lo ad p ape r in t he pa pe r tray a Pull the paper tray completely out of the machine. b While pressing the green paper-guide release leve r a , slide the paper guide s to fit t he paper size you are loading in the tray. Make sure that the guides are firmly in the slots.
5 4 Connect the po wer cord an d te leph one line a Connect the A C pow er cord to t he machi ne, and then plug it i nto an AC powe r outlet. b Remove t he label covering the machine's power switch, and then switch the ma chine on. c Connect the t elephone li ne cord.

10 10 Fax Transmissi on Report You r Brother machine is equipped with a Trans mission Verification Report that can be used as con firmation that you sent a fax.
11 13 Dial Prefi x The dial prefix s etting will automatically dial a pr edefined number befo re every fax number you di a l. For examp le: If your phone system requires a 9 to dial an ou tside number this set ting will a utomatically dia l 9 for every fax you send.
