If you have chosen Set Ne w Default for yo ur Fax , Scan and Photo pref erred sett ings, those settings wi ll not be lost.

General setup 3 1 Automatic Daylight Saving Time 1 You can set the m achi ne to change automatical ly for d aylight s avi ng time. I t will reset i tself f orward one hour in the Spring and backward one h our in the Fall. Make sure you have set the correc t date and time in the Date & Time setti ng.

Chapter 3 12 Co nt rast 3 If your documen t is very light or very dark, you may want to c hange the cont rast. For m ost document s, the f actory sett ing Auto can be use d. It auto matical ly chooses the sui table con t rast for your document. Choos e Light when s ending a light doc um ent.
Sending a f ax 13 3 NOTE You can choos e four different res o lution setti ngs for blac k & white f axes and two f or color faxe s. If you choose S.Fine or Photo and then send a c o lor f ax (choos ing Color in Color Setting ), t he machine w ill send the fax using the Fine setting.

Chapter 4 30 Fax re co very print ing 4 When you set Fax Previ ew and Memory Rec eive to Off, the machine tempo rarily stor es a f ax data in the memory f or abou t ten days. You can print it again withi n this period. NOTE • Color fax es cannot be stored in th e memory .
Rec eiving a fax 31 4 Po lling over view 4 Polling lets you set up your mac hine so other people can receiv e faxes from you, but they pay for the c all. I t a lso lets you call som ebody else’s fax mac hine and receiv e a fax from it, so you pay for the call.
