Using t h e ADF 2 The A DF can h old up to 10 pages and feeds each sheet individu al ly. Use standard 80 g/m 2 paper and always fan the pages before putti ng t hem in the ADF.

Chapter 2 18 How to loa d enve lopes and pos t cards 2 a Before loading, press the corners and sides o f the env elopes or post cards t o make them as flat as possible. Note If the envelopes or post cards a re ‘double- feedin g’ , put one envelope or post card in the paper tray at a time.

Make s ure the pa per side gu ides touch the sid es of the paper.
Chapter 2 20 Pr intable area 2 The printable area depend s on the settings in the application you are using. The figures below show the unprintable area s on cut shee t paper and envelopes. T he machine can only print in the shade d area s when the B orderless prin t feature is available and turned on.

39 6 6 Recei ve m ode s 6 You must choos e a receive mode de pendi ng on the external devices and t elephone services you have on your li ne. Ch oosi ng the Re ceive Mode 6 By de fault, your machine wil l autom at ically receive any faxes tha t are sent t o it.
Chapter 6 40 Using rece ive mode s 6 Some rec eive modes answer automatically ( Fax Only and Fax/Tel ) . You may want to chang e t he ri ng delay before using these modes. See Ring Delay on page 41 . Fax o nly 6 Fax onl y m ode will autom atically answer every call as a f ax call.

76 12 Polling ov erview 12 Polling le t s you set up y our machine so ot her people can receive faxes from you, but they pay f or the c a ll. It also lets you call somebo dy else’s f ax machine and recei v e a fa x fro m it, so y ou p ay for the call.
