Setti ng Up the Ma chin e 5 3 Fan the stack of paper well to avoid pape r j a ms and misfeeds. 4 Gently put the paper into the paper tray print side down and top edge first.
Set ti ng Up th e Machi ne 6 STE P 1 8 While holding the paper tray in place, pu ll out the paper support until it cli cks, and then unfold the paper support flap . Note D o not use the pap er support fl ap for Legal size paper. Note You can use t he phot o bypass tray which is locate d on t he top of the pape r tray to print on phot o 4 x 6 in.

You w ill need it if you tr ansport the machine. 4 Take out the ink cartridge. 5 Carefully remove the protect ive yellow cap (1). Setti ng Up the Ma chin e 9 The first time th e ink cartridges are inst all ed the machine prepares and cleans t he ink t ub e syst em. This init ial pr oce ss wil l take more ti me than a normal cleani ng cycle but wi ll happen only once.
Set ti ng Up th e Machi ne 10 STE P 1 4 The LCD shows: Is Quality OK? Yes i Press 1 No i Press 2 If all lines are cl ear and visib le, press 1 ( Yes ) on the dial pa d to fin ish the qual ity ch ec k. If you can s ee missing short l ines, press 2 ( No ) on the dial pa d and g o to step 5 .
Setti ng Up the Ma chin e 11 7 Set ting the LCD contr ast You c an adjust the LCD contrast f or a shar per an d more vivid display. If you are hav ing difficulty reading the LCD, try changing the cont rast setting. 1 Pre ss Me nu . 2 Pre ss a or b to choose General Setup .
Set ti ng Up th e Machi ne 12 STE P 1 7 Enter the t ime in 24 -hour form at on the dial pad, and then press OK . Date&Time Time: 15:25 (e .g . E nt e r 1 5 , 2 5 for 3:25 P .M.) 8 Pre ss St o p/ Ex it . To conf irm the current dat e and time, p rint out the User Set tings report.

Set ti ng Up th e Machi ne 14 11 Choosing a Receiv e Mode There are four possible receive modes : Fax Only , Fax/Tel , Manual and External TAD . 1 Press Menu . 2 Press a or b to choose Initial Setup . Press OK . 3 Press a or b to choose Receive Mode .
