The na me and fax numb er will b e printed on the fax cover pa ges and all fax p ages tha t you send. Setup 14 B ASIC USE Custom Settings Volume Settings Beeper Volume You can se t the beeper to LOW , HIGH or OFF . The machine comes set t o LOW . When the bee p er is set to LOW or HIGH , the machine beep s every time you press a key or make an error, and at the end of s ending o r receiving a fa x.

Making Co pies 26 B ASIC USE 4 Making Copies Copy Functions To make a singl e copy that is not re duced, enlar ged or sorted, you o nly have to press one key . Remember, your machi ne cannot scan an ything close r than 4 mm from th e edge of th e paper.
27 Ch apter 4 Reducing and Enlarging Copi es When ma king copies, you c an reduce or en large the size of th e printed ima ge. To redu ce to the size of A4 recordin g paper automa tically, select AUTO . To select a reduction r atio, choose 93% , 87 % , 75% or 50% .
Telephon e 28 B ASIC USE 5 Telephone Making a Call You ca n use y our mac hine to make v oice te lephon e calls , by d ialling manuall y or by using O ne Touch or Speed Dial mem ory. Y ou can us e the handset or if you hav e FAX-1030e yo u can use the Speakerp hone to make and receiv e calls.

Advanced Receiving 42 AD V ANCED USE 8 Advanced Receiving Operation from an External or Extension Telephone An externa l phone is a telephone t h at is plugged int o the machine (either int o the machine’s EX T socket or into th e back of the conn ector tha t plugs into the tel ephone wa ll socket) .
