Choose the me thod of connecting to your LA N. Y ou ha ve the choice of using a serial connection or an Ethernet connection to y our LAN to set the IP address f or the switch.

Connect the power cor d to the switch and plug in to a pow er source. The switch pow er and status LEDs di splay ambe r and then c hange to green, which usually takes fr om one to three minut es.

Select a n option for assign ing the IP address and click Ne xt . The options vary depending on the configuration of your switch: • K eep the current switch IP configuration.

Beginning at this step, the st eps are the same f or both serial and Ethernet connections. If you are setting up the switch f or the firs t time, the addresses shown are not valid.
