GB GB 1 Note: (This note applies only to engines used in the U .S.A.) Maintenance, replacement or repair of the emissi on control devices and systems may be performed by any nonroad engine repair establishment or individual.
GB 2 SAFETY Fuel and its vapors are extremely flammable and explosive. Fire or explosion can cause severe burns or death. WHEN ADDING FUEL • Tur n engine OFF and let engine cool at least 2 minutes before removing gas cap. • Fill fuel tank outdoors or in well-ventilated area.
GB 3 Unintentional sparking can result in fi re or electric shock. Unintentional start-up can result in entanglement, traumatic amputation, or laceration. BEFORE PERFORMING ADJUSTMENTS OR REP AIRS • Disconnect spark plug wire and keep it away from spark plug.
GB 4 ST ARTING CAUTION: This engine is shipped from Briggs & Stratton WITHOUT oil. Check oil level. If you start the engine without oil, the engine will be damaged beyond repair and will not be covered under warranty . See Oil section for recommendations, capacity and filling details.
GB 5 CHANGING ENGINE OIL - SEE FIGURE 7 Change oil after first 8 hours of operation. 1. Change oil while engine is warm. 2. Remove oil drain plug to drain oil. 3. Refill with new oil of recommended SAE visc osity grade. 4. Fill to FULL mark on dipstick.
GB 6 STORAGE Fuel can become stale when stored ov er 30 days. Stale fuel causes ac id and gum deposits to form in fuel system or on essential carburetor parts. Mix fuel stabilizer with fuel in tank or s torage container . Run engine for a short time to circulate stabilizer through c arburetor and engine.
