20 Printer-Applicator-System P AM 3000 5 Mounting the Applicator Inst allation 1. Put the applicator at the left side of the P AM 3000 printer using the four holes ( 1 ). 2. Fasten the applicator by screwing the four screws ( 4 ) including the washers.
21 Printer-Applicator-System P AM 3000 Slide V alve The lift cylinder ( 1 ) is equipped with a slide valve ( 2 ), which can only be actuated manually . By delivering the slide valve is closed so it is possible to keep the compressed air in the lift cylinder .
22 Printer-Applicator-System P AM 3000 Pad Unit V ersions The p ad unit consists of the pad holder , the pad and the blow tube. The format of the pad holder and the pad depends on the label format. So there are two different versions of the p ad holder , the small format (type 1200) and the large format (type 1 100).
23 Printer-Applicator-System P AM 3000 Mounting Normally all supplied label applicators have passed a previous run at the factory . Therefore all units including the p ad holder and the pad which are necessary for the operation of the device are mounted.
24 Printer-Applicator-System P AM 3000 Blow T ube It is necessary to mount a blow tube when applying large labels. This way the label is additio- nal blown against the pad with an air current coming from the blow tube. The air current supports the t ake-over of the label by the pad.
25 Printer-Applicator-System P AM 3000 6 Connecting the Printer Air Connection Fig. 6a Air connection P AM 3000 needs for operation the connection to a compressed air supply . It is very important to guarantee an operating pressure of 5 bar with a tolerance of plus/minus 5 % .

Therefore, the basic adjustments which are necessary for the operation of the device have been carried out. It may be useful to do some more fine tuning when the applicator is installed.
32 Printer-Applicator-System P AM 3000 Adjusting the Sides of the Lif t Cylinder Unit At the rear side of the carrier plate of the applicator there are two screws to adjust the sides of the cylinder unit. 1. Loosen the two screws ( 2 ) at the carrier plate of the applicator .
