Det ach blower wire ha rness f rom recep tacle loca ted in t he jacket h ead. Step 3. Discon nect the vent pip e and adapter tha t are connected to the outlet of the blower.
Step 6. Create th e new mounting hole loca tions for the new universal repl aceme nt blower . Use template supplied with manual. a. ) On the tem plate, P/N 23 8-47 197-00, the ( 3) circular se ctions for the wa ter conne ctions and flue h ave alre ady been removed.

If necessar y, re-rou te the vent pip e such that i t can be properl y seat ed in the top portion of the vent a dapter. Step 15. Be sur e that both clamps on the ve nt adapter are firmly t ightened , secur ing the bl ower , vent adapte r , and vent pip e togethe r.

Unp lug the water h eater from w all outlet . Step 3. Discon nect the vent pip e and adapter tha t are con nected to the outl et of the blo wer.
Unplug blo wer harn ess fr om jacket head rec eptacle by pinc hing t he connec tor. Unscre w ( 3) screw s th at hold blower to the ja c ket head. Warning: Failure to locate the blower correctly will resul t in im prop er wate r hea ter o perat ion. Step 4.

Inside the a ccess compartment, fo ll ow the b lack wire from t he power cord until you r each the flag t ermin al attach ed to the e nd of the wire. Disconnect black w ire from t he back of the power in let conne ctor.

Al so , verify that th e pre ssure switch tubing i s co nnected to the p ressure tap on the blow er and t o the switch itsel f.

Route wires thr ough hol e in juncti on box. Fasten c onnec t or to jun c ti o n bo x. Step 13. Locate n ew blower harne ss, P/N 239-47 194-00, provi ded with the kit. Rou te loose wire end s (yellow, b l u e, white , and green ) thr ough knock-o ut openi ng f rom Ste p 12c.

If necessar y, re- route the ve nt pipe such that i t can b e properl y se ated in the top porti on of the ve nt adapter.

Un plug wate r heater from w all o utlet. Step 3. Discon nect blo wer cord sets fr om recepta cles l ocated i n the bl ower h ousing.

Step 8. b.) P lace th e access co mpartment cover back o n the blower a nd secur e it with its (3 ) screws from Step 7a. Start th e l ower screw fir st, and when doin g so, ma ke sure that t he hole in the p ressure switch’s br acket m atches up to th e hol e in the b lower ho using.
