6 S/T& U LED The S/T&U LED will flash for a fe w seconds when the 1010 is first po wered on. This LED will then go of f, pro vided that the S/T & U interf aces are working prop- erly . a If there is no ISDN line con nected to the U-interface or the line is n ot acti- v at ed, then the S/T&U LED will be on con tinuously .
7 CHAPTER 3 Installing your unit Rear p anel 1 The 1010 rear panel ( see Figure 3 ) has three R J45 connecto rs, two fo r the S/T -interface and one for the U-interface. 2 The two R J45 connectors for the S/T interf ace, located on the left side of the rear panel, are conn ected in par allel intern ally .

9 Internal jumper se ttings The 1010 is shi pped with 100 Ω T ermination Resistance (TR). This TR is added to the S/T bus when dip switches 1 & 2 are set to the on position . If the installed S/T bus ISD N CP E p rovides 10 0 Ω TR, dip switches 1 & 2 shou ld be set to the o f f posi- tion to provide 0 Ω .
10 Wiring instructions Figur e 4 sho ws the wiring diagr am of t he 101 0 with th e ISDN Cu stom er Premis e Equipment (CP E) and the Line T ermination (L T). 11 W all mounting instructions T o mount the 1010 on a wall, follow these instruction s. 1 Drill two holes in the wall correspond ing to the holes on the wall moun t bracket pro vided with the 1010. 2 Insert the plastic wall anchors into the w all holes, using a hamm er if neces- sary .
