4 English Français Español S ETTING U P Before you begin W e appreciate your choic e of the Bose ® Acoustimass ® 6 Series III or Acoustimass 10 Series IV home entert ainment speaker system. The Acoust imass 6 featur es five small c ube speakers, wh ile the Acoustimass 10 system features four cube spea ker arrays and a center front speaker .
5 S ETTING U P English Français Español Placing your speakers to achi eve realistic home theater sound Keep these guidelines in mind w hen choosing a location for each speaker: • The Acoustimass ® module should be at le ast 2 feet (.6 m) from your TV set to prevent interfer ence.
6 S ETTING U P English Français Español Front left and right speakers The goal for these is to cr eate a sound image wider than the scr een that seems natural to viewers sitting anywhere in the r oom. • Place these two front speakers on either side of your TV .
7 S ETTING U P English Français Español Powered Acoustimass ® module Acoustimass ® speaker technology makes it difficult to locate the source of low-fr equency sound from this module. So feel free to hide it from view , and: • Locate the module at th e same end of the room as the TV scr een.
8 S ETTING U P English Français Español 2. Use the supplied 50-ft ( 15.2 m) speaker cables for the spea kers at the re ar of your ro om (Figure 5). Insert them into th e jacks on the module as follows: • RR goes into the jack labeled Right Rear . • LR goes into the jack labeled Left Rear .
9 S ETTING U P English Français Español Connecting the Acoustimass ® module to the receiver The system input cable is 20 feet (6.1 m) long and connects to your surr ound receiver . Unlike the speaker cables, this in put cable has a multi-pin connector th at inserts into the Audio Input jack on the module (Figure 6).
