1 Overview Congratulations on the purchase of your Adaptec V ideOh! PCI V ideo Converter kit. W ith this ki t, you can co nvert analog video from your camcor der or VCR into digital format to cr eate you own Hollywood style video CDs (VCDs) or DVDs .
2 Installing Y our A VC-2010 T o install your V ideOh! hardware and softwar e: 1 Discharge any static electricity build-up before handling the A VC-2010 card by touching a gr ounded metal object (such as the exposed metal parts on the back of your computer).
3 6 Secure the car d bracket with the scr ew you r emoved in Step 3 . 7 Close the computer cabinet and reattach the power cord. 8 T urn on your computer . W indows detects the A VC-2010 and starts the Found New Hardware W izard. This wizar d steps you through the proces s of installing the necessary drivers.
4 11 Use W indows Explorer to display the V ideOh! CD contents, then click autorun.exe . 12 From the main V ideOh! Installation screen, click Install Software , then click MyDVD TM . Note: Windows 98SE only —Y our system may automatically install an updated version of W indows Installer , then prompt you to r estart your computer .
5 Creating a Video Pr oject with MyD VD These instructions give you th e basic steps for capturing video, trimming it, and then burning it to DVD or CD.
6 2 Move the mouse pointer over either DVD-V ideo or V i d eo CD, then click Create or Modify a... Project . The Main project window appears. 3 Click Capture . The Capture window appears. 4 Press the Play button on your analog video device. The video image appears in the Capture window , as shown in Step 3 .
7 5 T o begin transferring your video to your computer , click Start Capturing . MyDVD captures your video, including the audio. Note: If you get any error messages at this point in your video capturing, stop your analog vide o device and see Need Help Capturing Y our V ideo? on page 1 1 .
8 T rimming Y our Video Now that you’ve capture d some video footage, you can trim it. For example, you can change your St art and End points. Y ou can also choose the specific video frame that you want to use as the thumbnail pictur e that is displayed in your Main pr oject window .
9 ■ If playback appears fuzzy and un clear (for example, the edges of objects, especially objects in motion, ar e feather ed), it is because of a differ ence between how televisions and computer monitors display video. This ef fect is not notice able when you play back the finished DVD or VCD d isc on your TV .

11 Need Help Capturing Y our Video? ■ If your analog video device, such as a VCR or camcord er , is not powered on, after about 1 minute, you will get an err or message. T o allow MyDVD to recognize and capture the video: a Click OK to close the error message.
