1 Installation and Configuration In this Guide This do cumen t descri bes ho w to instal l the 6 200S S C SI an d the 7200 S Fibr e Channel R AID con tr ollers into a DuraS t or Ext ernal RAID subsy stem to create a dual-contr oller conf iguration.
2 DuraStor 620 0S/7200S Dual Co ntr oller Configur ation Guide System R equire ments T o work in a dual-con tr oller environment, both con tr o llers must have the same: ■ am ount of memor y insta lled. ■ firmware version. See U pgrad ing the Controller F irmware on page 3.
3 Upg radin g th e Cont roller Fi rmw are Upgr adi ng th e Cont r oll er Fi rmwa re This section describes how to upgrade the firmware of your DuraStor RAID contr o ller . Adaptec r e commends that you use the latest version of the firmwar e for both of your controllers.

5 Upg radin g th e Cont roller Fi rmw are Upgrading t he Firmware T o upgrade the firmwar e on both the primary and secondary controllers: 1 Fr om the System Menu, se lect Shutdown/Resta rt . 2 Select Ye s and then pr es s Ent er to confi rm the shutdown .

The activity status an d firmware versio n is displayed in the termina l window on the secon d line after the restart. 9 Fr om th e Sy st em Me nu , select Shutdown/Restart to shutdown the syste m.

9 Changing t he Controller’ s Op erating Mode 6 Select Oper ati ng Mo de and pr ess En te r . 7 Select the operating mode type and pr ess Enter . 8 Exit out of the A daptec Disk Array Admin istrator and shut down the contro ller . 9 Remove the front bezel from the DuraStor storag e subsystem and r emove the contr oller .
