BA TTERY SAFETY : Clean the batter y contacts and also those of the device prior to battery installation. Remove batteries from equipment which is not to be used for an extended period of time.
6 Set t he Time, Date & U nits This rain gauge is equipped with hist orical data and alarms t hat require accurate time and date settings to function proper ly . It is impor tant to set t he time, date and units before using t he rain gauge. Press and hold the “SET” button f or 3 seconds to enter SET MODE.

8 OPERATION Using t he R ain Gauge Modes & Historical Dat a Press the MODE button t o vie w rainfall data for dif ferent modes. While a mode is being view ed, press the CLEAR button to erase t he reading being vie wed or press the HIS T . button t o vie w historical readings.
9 Alarms Flood Watc h Alarm Press the FLOOD W AT C H button to activate or deactivate the FLOOD W A T CH AL ARM. When the alar m is ON and ood and saturation conditions ar e present, an alarm will sound and the FLOOD W A TCH indicator will highlight on the displa y .
10 Troubleshooting No rainfall: Display shows dashes Dashes indicate t hat the display unit and rainfall collector are not sync hronized. • Relocate t he display unit and/or the rainfall collector . The units must be within 1 65 f t (50 m) of each ot her .
11 Calibration Calibrate t he Rain Gauge The rain gauge can be calibrated to improv e accuracy . Items Needed: rain collector , display unit, plastic cup, pin, screw driver 1 . First, place t he rain collector on a le vel surf ace. 2. Place t he display unit close by so y ou can monitor it dur ing calibration.
