8 Display Unit Se tup The display unit operates wit h batteries and/or power adapter . Regardless of the power source, it is r ecommended that batter ies always be installed to ensure continuous operation (and retain records) in case of a po w er outage.
9 Set t he Time & Dat e The cloc k and calendar are utilized to time stamp histor y records and other data, so it is impor t ant to set t he time and date soon af t er you po w er on the display unit.
10 Select Measurement U nits T o select be tween standard units (mph, ºF , e tc.) or metric units (kph, ºC, e tc.): 1 . Press the“ ▲ ” or “ ▼ ” buttons until “SET UNITS?” is displayed on the Selectable Cat egor y par t of t he display unit.
11 Placement for Maximum Accuracy AcuRite sensors are sensitive to surrounding envir onmental conditions. Proper placement of bot h the display unit and t he sensor are critical t o the accuracy and per for mance of this product. 12 5-in-1 Sensor Installation Guidelines INSTALLATION HEIGHT Mount t he sensor at least 5 fee t (1 .5 met ers) of f the ground (higher is better for wind measurement) in an open area.
13 OPERATION Using t he Professional Weat her Center Learning Mode Self-Calibrating Forecasting use a unique algorithm t o analyze c hanges in pressure o v er a time period (called Lear ning Mode) to deter mine your altitude. Af ter 1 4 days, t he Learning Mode icon disappears from the displa y screen.

When an alarm sounds, the display unit emits audible beeping and ashes the af fect ed categor y , its alarm settings, and an y other relev ant data. Some alarms can be customized to aler t y ou when y our programmed value is reached.
