5 EN Rack-mount setup The s eries can be ins talled in 19 inc hes racks. Bo th t he UP S and external battery enclosure need 2U of rack space. Use the followi ng procedure to install UPS in a rack. 1. A lign the mounting ears with s crew holes on the s ide of the UPS, and tighte n the screw.

7 EN Connecting the EBM in a rack form 1. Using the sam e method as assembling UPS in a rack form , assemble EBM into the rack -mounting on the top or b ottom of the UPS. 2. Connect the eart h line from UPS (port A ) to EBM (por t B ) 3. Take off the LCD box , and unscr ew the internal sc rews.
8 EN Connecting multiple EBMs in T ow er form 1. Connect Earth line bet ween UPS and the first EBM, and then connect Earth Line between the f irst EBM and the sec ond EBM. 2. Take off the f ront panel, and connec t the batter y terminal (A) fr om UPS to EBM terminal (B) sho wn a s below.
9 EN Note: Thr ee or more EBMs can be connected to the UPS in the s ame wa y as shown above. Note: After connect the EBMs, please do not f orget to set th e n umber of EBMs on LCD, please refe r to chapter 7 “ Setting b y L CD m odule” for setting method.

11 EN 1.3.1 UPS a nd Battery Care For the best preventive m aintenance, k eep the area around the UPS c lean and dust-free. If the atmosphere is very dust y, clean the outside of the s ystem with a vacuum cleaner. F or long batter y life, k eep the U PS at an am bient temperature of 25° C (77° F) 1.
12 EN 1.3.4 Replacing U PS Internal Batter ies Follow the steps and Charts as bel ow to replace batter ies: 1. Take off the LCD box, a nd rem ove the screws. 2. Slide and Pull the front pa nel leftward a nd then tak e it off. 3. Disconnect the cable f rom the UPS and bat tery pack .
13 EN 1.3.5 T esting New Batteries For a batter y test, please check: The batter ies must be ful ly charged. The UPS must be in Nor mal mode with no active alar ms. Don’t ta k e on/of f the load. To test batteries: 1. Connect the UPS to uti lity power for at least 48 hours to c harge the batteries.

16 EN 3. Introduction This On-Line-Series is an unint erruptible p ower s upply incorpora ting double-converter technolog y . It pro vides per fect prot ection spec ificall y for Novell, W indows NT and UNIX servers. The double-con verter princ iple eliminates a ll mains p ower disturbances.
17 EN 4. Panel Descri ption The Displ ay Panel Switch Function ON-Button T u rn on UPS syst em: By press ing th e ON-Button “I” the UPS system is turned on. Deactivate a coustic alarm: By pres sing this Button a n acoustic alarm can be deactivated in the battery mode.
18 EN The LCD Display Display Function Display Function Input Information Output Information It indicates input voltage/frequency value, which are displayed alternately . It indicates output voltage/frequency value, which are displayed alternately . It indicates the input is connected with mains, and the input power is supplied from the mains.
19 EN 5. Connection a nd Operation 5.1 Inspection Inspect the p ack aging carton and it s contents for damage. Please inform the transport agenc y immediatel y should you find signs of dam age. Please keep the packagin g in a safe place for future use.
20 EN (2) UPS Out put Connect ion The output of the UPS is IEC soc ket-t y p es. Sim ply plug the load power c ord to the outp ut sock ets to complete connection.
21 EN NC Normally t he EPO conn ector is closed with a wire on the re ar panel. Once the connector is open, the UPS would stop the out put until the EP O status is disabled.
22 EN change within 30 seconds ; in restin g mode, U PS will d etect the c hange within 3 minutes; (2) Manual test T est the f unction of the U PS s ystem by press ing the O n-Switch “I” for m ore than 1 s econd, the UPS would detect whether the batter y is connecte d or the battery is lo w imm ediately .
23 EN (3) T he battery connection proc edure is ver y important. Any incompliance m ay result in the ris k of electric shock . Theref ore, the following steps m ust be strictly complied w ith. (4) Mak e sure the m ains input i s cut off, if there is a batter y break er then turn it off first.
24 EN 6. Operating Mo de for All Models The different strin g could be displayed on the LCD sc reen corr esponding to their own oper ating modes, and the y are illustrat ed as the fo llowing table. At any tim e, onl y one n orm al operating string or fau lt string is presented.
25 EN Note: Please follo w the follo wing steps to connect the gener ator : ● Activate the generator and wait until the operation is stable before supplying power of the generator to t he U PS (be sur e that the UPS is in idle m ode). Then turn on the UPS ac cording to the start-up procedure.
26 EN The UPS does n ot have t he backup function when it is in bypass mode. The power used by the load i s supplied from the utility power via i nterna l filter . 6.4 NO output mode The LCD di splay in N o output mode is shown in the following diagram.
27 EN 6.7 Converter mode In converter m ode, on LCD disp lay , the m ode string is “ CVCF”. The UPS would f ree run with fixed output frequenc y (50Hz or 60H z) in converter m ode. Onc e th e m ains is loss or abnorm al, the UPS would transfer to battery mode and the load is s upplied continu ously by the batter y .

T he output voltage could be set to 208V , 220V , 230V and 240V .

32 EN 9. Maintenance 9.1 Operation The UPS s ystem contains no user- serviceable parts. I f the battery ser vice l ife (3~5 years at 25° C am bient tem perature) h as be en ex ceeded, t he ba tteries must be replaced. In t his case pleas e contact your dealer .
