Do not open any access panels which require the use of tools. Failure to heed this warning can result in electrical shock.

Ensure that all packing materials have been removed from the unit. Verify that the Spray Head Gasket and Spray Disk are properly installed.

ST ART- UP For initial start-up, or if the br ew er has not been used for an extended period of tim e: ♦ Be sure spray disk and brew gasket are properly installe d in the brew head. ♦ Be sure the wa ter supply is properly connected and the water supply valve is turned ON .
OPERATION (continued) 7 WATER HEATER W ater temperature is sensed by an electronic water temperature probe inserted into the water tank. This tempera ture sign al is fed t o the control ler.
8 OPERATION (continued) ELECTRONIC FEATURES Energizing the Brewer When electric power is applied to th e unit, all the li ghts will flash four times and four beeps will sound. The unit will be OFF . Press the ON/OFF key. Four beeps will sound and all lights will flash once.
OPERATION (continued) Quality Timer is normally set for 30 minutes. It can be set for 20 minutes by moving a jumper on the controller. See page 19. After Hours™ is an energ y saving f eature. T he brewer will enter After Hours™ mode if it is not used for three hours.
BREWING COFFEE CA UTI ON: Burn Hazard Exposed surfaces of the brewer, brew chamber and airpot or se rver m ay be HOT to the touch, and can cause serio us burns. CA UTI O N: Burn Hazard To avoid splashing or over- flowing hot liquids, ALWAYS place an empty airpot or server under the brew cham ber bef ore starting the brew cycle .

SERVICING INSTRUCT IONS (continued) TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT Unplug power cord or turn circuit breaker OFF. Remove top panel. Remov e button plug from front panel. Pull vent tube out of tank lid an d insert a thermometer of known accuracy in vent hole. Reconnect brewer to e lectr ical power.
SERVICING IN STRUCTIONS (continued ) IMPORTANT: W ater pr essure must be between 20 p.s.i and 90 p.s.i. f lowing pressure. If water pressure exceeds this value, or if water pressure varies gr eatly, a pres sure regulator must be insta l led in the water supply lin e.
SERVICING IN STRUCTIONS (continued ) 17 REPLACE SOLENOID Unplug pow er cord. Turn OFF and disconn ect w ater supply from brewer inlet fitting. Remove front pane l. Remove two screws h olding acc ess door in place. Remove access door and solenoid. Unscrew inlet fitting cap to release solenoid from door.
REPLACE HOT WATER FAUCET COIL (Symptom: Brewer drips continuously from brew head, except when faucet valve is turned OFF.) Remove t ank lid ass embly per above. Remove two hex nuts hot water coil to cover. Pull coil f rom mounting holes. Reassemble in reverse order.

CA UTIO N - CH EMICA L BURN HA ZA RD Deliming chem icals are caustic. W ear ap pr op riate pr ote ct ive gloves and goggles during this procedure. Never siphon deliming chemicals or solutions by mou th. This operation should only be perfo rm e d by qualifie d an d ex- perienced service personnel.
7. Set the tank back into the bre wer. Reassemble the tank lid to the water tank. Mak e sure the gasket is properly in place, then reinstall the hold-do wn strap. 8. Reinstall wi ring to heating element and the rmostat. Reinstall the hi-lim it thermostat (if removed).
