1. IMPORT ANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS In addition to these instructions, the dishwasher shall be installed: = In accordance with all local codes or , in absence of a local code, = In the United States, with the National Electric Code, = In Canada, with the Canadian Electric Code C22.
Ý Notice : After unpacking the dishwasher and prior to installation, thoroughly inspect the dishwasher for possible freight or cosmetic damage. Report any damage immediately . Ý Notice : = Cosmetic defects must be reported within 10 days of installation.
Hot W ater Supply Line - Minimum 3/8" O.D. copper tubing or metal braided dishwasher supply line. Shut-off valve and fittings appropriate for hot water supply line (copper tubing/compression fitting, or braided hose). Electrical Supply Cable - Minimum #14A WG, 2 conductors, 1 ground, insulated copper conductors.
4. MA TERIALS SUPPLIED 4.1 P ARTS SUPPLIED Parts for your dishwasher will come in several plastic bags. Check your parts bags shown to make sure you have all the parts as listed to the left. 4.2 MANUAL BAG The dishwasher comes with a manual bag containing: = User manual, = Installation manual and = Quick reference guide.
Ý Notice : = For proper dishwasher operation and appearance ensure that the enclosure has the minimum dimensions shown in the figure above. WARNING T o avoid electrical shock and/or a fire hazard, make sure electrical work is properly installed. Only qualified electricians should perform electrical work.
T o the right side position the cable extending approximately 5½" (140 mm) (Figure B ). Remove 2 15 / 16 " - 3 15 / 16 " (75mm-100mm) of the cable's outer casing, and then remove 3/8"-1/2" (9-13mm) of insulation from each wire.
Measure the height of the enclosure. If the height of the enclosure is 33 7 / 16 " to 34¼" (850 mm - 870 mm) use short supports as shown in the figure. If the height of the enclosure is above 34¼" (870 mm) use long supports as shown in the figure.
Ý Notice : = Make sure the dishwasher is plumb and notice dishwasher can be placed with a small clearance under the counter top. Adjust the front foot level with the adjusting wrench to balance and raise the dishwasher to the enclosure height.
Remove the junction box cover by removing the screws as shown in the figure. They will be reinstalled later . WARNING Installation should be performed by a qualified installer . Work by unqualified persons could be dangerous and may void the warranty .
Ý Notice : = Either one of the above methods must be used or the dishwasher will not operate properly . = A hose that attaches to a sink spray can burst if it is installed on the same water line as the dishwasher . If your sink has one, it is recommended that the hose be disconnected and the hole plugged.
CA UTION Make sure all hoses and electrical wire are pulled through the side opening of the cabinet, no hoses are kinked and all slack is taken out as shown in the above figure.
CA UTION = Hot water supply line: Use minimum 3/8 O.D. copper tubing or metal braided dishwasher supply line. = T emperatures required for soldering and sweating will damage the dishwasher s water inlet valve so if any such operation is needed, keep the heat source min.
WARNING = Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of electric shock. Check with a qualified electrician or service representative if you are in doubt whether the appliance is properly grounded.
Ý Notice : = For models, DW 34100 NBL00, DW35100 NBL00, DW 36100 NBL00, DW 36101 NBL00, note that you should keep the total height of the dishwasher at 32 1 / 4 (819mm) max. 7.2.2 F ASTEN JUNCTION BOX 7.3 READJUSTING FOOT LEVELS 1. Pull the wires into the junction box.
Ý Notice : A B p r C n 7.4 ADJUSTING THE MOV ABLE TOE KICK Now that you have successfully installed the dishwasher , y ou need to attach the toe kick to the dishwasher . The two piece toe kick can be adjusted to the height and depth needed for your kitchen.
? ? Figure A 7.5 INST ALLING THE OUTER DOOR (DW 34100, DW 35100, DW 36100, DW 36101) If the enclosure height is above 33 1 / 16 (840 mm) use n and o labelled toe kicks together . Make sure the slotted toe kick o is on the outside so you can adjust height of the toe kick.
3 . Lay the schematic over the door from the bottom up and mark holes on the wooden door as shown in the drawing (Figure A ). 4 . Place the plastic mounting brackets over the marked holes and the side tabs must be flush with the edge of the wooden door (Figure B ).
6 . Cut the small tabs on the mounting brackets off (Figure A ). 8 . Mount the wooden door onto the dishwasher with the plastic mounting brackets which you have attached (Figure B ). 9. Open the door and remove the two caps and two screws inside the door at position 1 and 3 (Figure C ).
10. Using the four screws Ø 3 / 16 "x 1 11 / 16 " (Ø 4 mm x 43 mm) provided, attach the wooden door to the dishwasher at position 1 and 3 (Figure A ). 11 . Check the position of the wooden door and make sure it is aligned properly (Figure B ).
ADJUSTING DOOR TENSION WITH CUST OM WOODEN DOOR (DW 34100, DW 35100, DW 36100, DW 36101) Check the door tension of the dishwasher: If the door closes too quickly or if the door falls open, the spring tension needs to be adjusted. The adjustment screws can be found on the front of the dishwasher after you open the door (see drawing).
Ý Notice : If you have a European kitchen or want to install a wooden toe kick to match your kitchen, please refer to one of the two drawings given below . Follow the same instructions on the brackets as for the removable toe kick. Installation should be done following the steps illustrated in the figures A , B , C , D respectively .
