12 Setting the Language If the Lucca is switc hed on for the fi r st time, US English is used as the standard language. If necessar y , you may hav e to se t the desired language for the menus and t he voice output: T urn on the Lucca using the Power button.

23 GPS Info T ouch the GPS Info butt on t o ob- tain information about the current GPS status and about your current position. Route Planning T ouch the Itinerary button to plan a rout e with several stages. For further details, please read the section "Route Planning with S tag- es".

45 Changing the Order • Move r oute point up: Select the rout e point t o be moved. T ouch the More butt on. T ouch the Mov e target up button. The Itinerar y menu is displayed again, the selected r out e point is moved up in the r out e list by one position.

Calculating a Route A planned rout e can also be calculat- ed without GPS reception so t hat you can gain an overview of the trip. In this case, the fi rst defi ned route point is set as the starting point of the rout e.
47 Displaying the Route on the Map T ouch the Show butt on to display the entire r oute on the map. The map is displayed. The rout e is highlighted in blue. The specifi ed rout e points are identifi ed by fl ags. Simulation (demo mode) T ouch the map.

50 Disturbed GPS Reception A message appears after ent ering the destination if no adequate GPS signal is received. • If you are in an enclosed room, move t o the outside. The L ucca re- quires a vertical line tow ards the sky . If the GPS reception is disturbed during the destination guidance, the navigation is st opped.
51 W orking with the Map Map Operation In this section you learn which in- formation and which pr ocessing op- tions are available in t he map view . Depending on whether y ou display a map without or during the navigation, different options ar e available f or op- eration.
52 Buttons Different butt ons are available in t he map view with whic h you can adjust the display accor ding to y our needs. With Map View without GPS Reception • Show/hide butt ons – More This button allo ws y ou t o hide the other butt ons to gain a bett er overview of the map.

58 Caution The information on the digital r oad maps may be incorrect due t o shor t- term changes (construction, etc.)! The traffi c situation and the local signpost information ha ve priority over the inf or mation of the L ucca.

Switch the desired r out e informa- tion on or off with the correspond- ing buttons. The corresponding information f or the next stage (upper ar ea) and the complet e route (low er area) is displayed on t he map.

61 Additional F unctions during Navigation The follo wing functions can be used during a navigation: • Inser ting an int erim destination • Skipping a stage • Blocking route segments Inser ting an Interim Destination During the navigation, y ou can inser t a new int erim destination at any time.
62 Approaching the Ne xt Destination This function is only available during a navigation on a rout e with at least one interim point. Use this function if you w ant to skip the next r oute point. T ouch the Ne xt destination but- ton t o approach the next t o one rout e point.
63 Briefl y touch an y position on the map. Select the Block road entry. The Block r oad menu displays. Enter the number of kilome tres, star ting with y our current posi- tion, which you w ant to bloc k. The route is r ecalculated and t he block ed rout e segment is evaded.
64 Confi guring Lucca/ Basic Settings Settings Y ou can per form settings in the L ucca for the f ollowing areas: • Language • Home address • Map information • Route inf ormation • Routing .
65 Home Address In the Home addr ess menu, you can stor e your home address so t hat you can quickly na vigate home fr om any location. T ouch the Enter y our home ad- dress butt on. T ouch the Address butt on and enter y our home address in the "Entering a destination addr ess" section.
66 Not e: This information is only displa yed if you navigat e to several loca- tions. Routing Options In the Routing options menu, y ou can defi ne the speed profi le of your ve- hicle, select the type of routing and ex clude certain streets from usage.

68 • 3 D auto zoom – Select whether y ou desire aut o zoom or no auto zoom as de- fault in 3-D view during a navi- gation. • 2 D auto zoom – Select whether you desire low aut o zoom, standard aut o zoom, high auto zoom or no auto zoom during a na vigation with 2-D view .
69 • Time T ouch this fi eld to t oggle between 12-hour and 24-hour display . • Distance T ouch this fi eld to t oggle between the display in kilome tres and miles. Representation In the Repr esentation menu, you can set the brightness f or day and night mode.
70 Product Information T ouch this fi eld t o display the v er - sion of the map being used and the version of the na vigation soft- ware. ➜ GPS Mode of Operation The Global Positioning Sy stem (GPS) was developed in t he 70s by the US militar y . GPS is based on a to tal of 24 satel- lites that ar e orbiting the earth and sending out signals.
71 If the Lucca r eceives the signals fr om at least 3 satellit es, it can determine its position and display it on the map. This position can then be used as the star ting point f or a rout e calculation. Since a positioning and position dis- play is carried out once ev er y second, you can view y our mov ement on the map.
72 Push the SD card int o the SD card slot according t o the marking on the slot until the car d engages. Selecting MP3 Mode If you are in a differ ent operating mode, Press the Menu butt on longer than 3 seconds. The main menu display s. T ouch the Music Play er butt on.
73 T ouch the fi le to which y ou want t o listen b y using the arro ws t o scroll up and down in the list. The MP3 menu is displayed again and the selected MP3 fi le star ts playing. Playback the MP3 File T o select the next fi le in the MP3 list, touc h the butt on in the MP3 menu.
74 Removing the SD Card Y ou quit the MP3 mode by t ouch- ing the button in the Mp3 menu. Carefully push on the SD car d in the slot until it disengages. The SD card is eject ed a little bit and can be remov ed. ➜ ➜ Picture Viewer Mode The Lucca can also be used t o view pictures that are st ored on the in- ser t ed SD card.
75 T ouch the Picture Viewer butt on. The Pictures vie wer menu displa ys. The fi rst picture in the pictur e fi le recognised by t he Lucca is dis- played. ➜ Selecting a Picture fi le T o select the next pictur e in the fi le list, touch t he next fi le by us- ing the arrow s to scroll down on the Pictur es Viewer menu.
76 At the last slide the Question No- tice where the slide sho w is fi n- ished will appear . Starting the F ull Screen T ouch the F ull button to vie w the full screen with all the pictur es in the fi le list. On the full screen mode, you can move t o the pr evious or next fi le by using the arro w icon.
77 Removing the SD Card Y ou quit the Picture Viewer mode by t ouching the butt on in the Pictur es viewer menu. Carefully push on the SD car d in the slot until it disengages.
78 Switch off and on the Lucca again by pressing t he Power button for a fe w seconds. A dialog menu displays. F ollow the instruction to install the str eet map. Det ermine whether t o load the con- tent of the r oad map int o the main memor y of the device or whe ther the Lucca should load the data fr om the SD card during the navigation.
79 Disposal of old unit (EU countries only) Do not dispose of your old unit in the household trash! Please use the return and collection syst ems available t o dispose of the old unit. Ser vice In some countries Blaupunkt offers a specifi c repair ser vice including a pick -up ser vice.

81 The internal navigation softwar e re- mains intact and you can use either the internal na vigation software or the one on the SD card f or the selec- tion. Is the old internal navigation soft- ware ov erwritten with a change of the navigation software? No, the syst em can navigat e with the internal as w ell as the e xternal data.
