When using your iron, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following: ■ Read all instructions. ■ Use iron only for its intended use. ■ T o protect against a risk of electric shock, do not immerse the iron in water or other liquid.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS ■ T o avoid a circuit overload, do not operate another high- wattage appliance on the same circuit. ■ If an extension cord is necessary , it should be rated not less than 10 amperes and have Underwriters Laboratories listing. Cords rated for less amperage may overheat.
IMPORT ANT : Follow this procedure to clean the iron and to become familiar with its features before first use. 1. Remove any labels, stickers, protective materials, or tags which may be attached to the body or soleplate of the iron. 4 How T o Use PERP ARING THE IRON 1.

NOTE: The PUSH ON Button will normally remain pushed in. It will pop out only if the iron shuts itself off automati- cally . 3. Use the Heat Fabric Guide (Numbered 1 thru 7) on the body of the iron to select the setting for the fabric to be ironed. (Also, see “ Fabric Ironing Chart ” on page 9 ).
increase the heat set- ting slightly on the T emperature Selector Dial. 6. For spray , simply pump the spray button at the top of the iron to get a water mist from the spray nozzle. Spray can be used at any tem- perature setting whether steam or dry ironing.
NOTE: T urning the T emperature Selector to O/FILL will not shut off the iron. That simply shuts off the heat. If you have ironed for less than an hour and the PUSH ON Button remains pushed in, unplug the cord from the outlet to ensure the iron is off.
