3 ENGLISH Intended use Y our Black & Decker kettle has been designed for boiling water as described in this manual. Do not use this appliance for any other purpose. This product is intended for household use only . Read this entire manual carefully before using the appliance.
4 ENGLISH • Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is used near children. After use • Switch off and remove the plug from the socket before leaving the appliance unattended and before changing, cleaning or inspecting any parts of the appliance.
5 ENGLISH • Connect the blue lead to the neutral terminal • If the product is class I (earthed), connect the green/yellow lead to the earth terminal. Note: If your product is class II double insulated (only 2 wires in the cord set), no connection is to be made to the earth terminal.
6 ENGLISH • T o switch the appliance of f during boiling, push the On / Off switch (2) the of f position (O). • If you do not want to use the boiled water immediately , the kettle may be left on the base. If you want to bring the water back to boil after a while, push the on / off switch (2) to on again.
Protecting the environment Separate collection. This product must not be disposed of with normal household waste. Should you find one day that your Black & Decker product needs replacement, or if it is of no further use to you, do not dispose of it with other household waste.

10 FRANÇAIS • Une surveillance étroite est nécessaire lorsque l’appareil fonctionne à proximité d’enfants. Après utilisation • Eteindre l’appareil et retirer la fiche de la prise avant de laisser l’appareil sans surveillance et avant de changer , nettoyer ou inspecter les éléments de l’appareil.
11 FRANÇAIS • Connectez le fil bleu sur la borne neutre • Si l’appareil est de classe I (mis à la terre), connectez le fil vert/jaune sur la borne terre. Remarque: Si votre appareil est de classe II double isolation (seulement 2 fils dans le cordon), aucune connexion n’est à faire sur la borne terre.
12 FRANÇAIS • Pour éteindre l’appareil pendant l’ébullition, appuyez sur le bouton Marche/Arrêt (2) en le mettant sur la position Arrêt (O). • Si vous ne désirez pas utiliser l’eau bouillante immédiatement, vous pouvez laisser la bouilloire sur son socle.
