P-660W-Tx v2 Quick Start Guide 1 Overview The P-660W-Tx v2 let s you: • Set up a wireless networ k with IEEE 802.1b and IEEE 802.1g capability • Set up a DSL connection to the In ternet withou t the need for a modem • Set up advanced router features, including a firewall and wireless security .
P-660W-Tx v2 Quick Start Guide 2 1 Set Up Y our Hardware 1 Antenna: Point the antenna upwards (perpendicular to the ground). 2D S L : Connect the P-66 0W-Tx v2 to a telephone j ack using a telephone wire. 3E T H E R N E T : Use an Ethernet cable to connect the Ethernet port on your compu ter to the Ethernet port on the P-660W-Tx v2.
P-660W-Tx v2 Quick Start Guide 3 Look at the LEDs (light s) The DSL light blinks and then stays on when a DSL connection is detected. The ETHERNET light turns on if your computer is pr operly conn ected to the P-660W-Tx v2 using the Ethernet cab le. When you connect th e power , the POWER light blinks and stays on once the device is ready .
P-660W-Tx v2 Quick Start Guide 4 2.2 Set up Internet Access wi th the Connection Wizard If Zero Configuration does not de tect y our Internet access settings, use the Connection Wiza rd to set up Internet Access. Acces s the P- 660W-Tx v2’s web configurator so yo u can use the Wizard.
P-660W-Tx v2 Quick Start Guide 5 2.2.2 Configure Internet Access and Local Network Settings with the Connection Wiza rd Use the Connection Wiza rd to set up access to the Internet through your ISP . These are your W AN (wide area network) settings. Then use the Connection Wizard to set up the connection from your computer to the P-660W-Tx v2.
