7 SECTION 3: ASSEMBLING YOUR LAWN MOWER Re movi ng Un it From Cart on • Remove s taples, break glue on top flaps, or cut tape at c arton end and peel along top flap to o pen. • Remove loose pa rts included with unit (i.e., operator ’ s manua l, oi l, etc .
8 • Using a pair of pliers, insert the hairpin clip into the inner hole on the wel d pin. Repeat on other side. See F igure 5 . 10 SECTION 5: OPERATING Y OUR LAWN MOWER Gas & O il Fill-Up • Check oil level and add o il if necessary. Follow relevant instructions in t h e engine manual for this. • Service the engine wi th gasoline as instructed in the engi ne manual. Befo re Start ing Mower • Attach spark plug wire to spark plug.
11 • Attach grass catcher following inst r u ctions on page 8 of this manu al. G rass clippings will autom atically collect in the bag a s you run the mower. • Operate the mower till the grass bag is ful l. Refer to page 9 for description of flow indic a tor.

This will prevent rusting of the discha rge door. Engine • Follow the engi ne manual instructions and recomm ended schedu le for l u bricating engine compone nts.
13 Blade Mounting T orque : Blade ada pter bolts: 120 in.lbs. minimum, 150 in.lbs.maximum Center bolt: 450 in.lbs. minimum , 600 in .l bs. ma ximu m. Replacing Drive Belt • Remove tw o sh o ulder screws securing the front drive cover to the mower deck.
14 • Turn the lower handle around so the notch on the bottom o f the lower handle is facing forward as shown i n Fi g ure 16 . Reassemble , pl a cing the bottom hol es i n the handle over the weld pins in the handle m ounting bracket. Figu re 16 • Reassem ble the upper handle to the lower handl e.
