After striking a foreign object, stop the engine, disconnect the spark plug wire and ground against the engine.
5 SECTION 2: ASSEMBLING YOUR TILLER IMPORT ANT: This unit is s hipped w ithout gaso line or oil in th e engine. Be cer tain to servi ce en gine w ith gaso line and oil, as i nstruct ed in the eng ine man ual, before operatin g your t iller. (The eng ine man ual is pack ed seperat ely and shipped in th e tiller car ton.
6 SECTION 3: KNOW YOUR TILLER Read this ope rator’s man ual and safety rules before oper ating your til ler. Compa re the illu strat ions in Figu re 2 with your til ler to familia rize you rself wit h the loca tion of vari ous contr ols and adj ustments .
7 • Place th e throttle contr ol in the FAS T positi on. • Move choke lever to CHOKE position . A warm engin e requires l ittle or no ch oke. • Grasp sta rter hand le and pull r ope out slowl y until engin e reach es sta rt of c ompres sion c ycle (r ope will pull slightly harder at this point).
8 • Minimum til ling width is 10 inches. For that, you will have to remov e both sets of ou ter tines. Re move these tin es by r emovi ng the two self- tapping s crews on the outsid e of the tines. S ee Figure 5. • When laying out pl ant rows, be sure to allo w enough width to permit cu ltivatio n between th e rows.
