3 m Placing the subw oofer It is recommended to place the subwoof er on the outside of either the right or the left main speaker . (See fig. Å .) The placement shown in fig.
4 Place the main speakers on a r ack or on a shelf . Place the center speaker on top of the TV , on a shelf or inside the TV rack so that it is stab le. T o obtain more stability and usefulness, we recommend that you mount these speak ers on the provided mounting brack ets (type A).
5 Mount the rear speakers on a shelf , rac k or directly on the floor , or hang them on the wall. T o mount the rear speakers on a wall b y using the pr ovided mounting brac kets (type B) Note It is recommended that you connect the speak er cords to the speaker’ s terminals before attaching the brack et to the speaker .
6 CONNECTIONS Caution: Plug in the subwoofer and other audio/video components after all connections are completed. m An e xample of basic connections SPEAKERS MAIN CENTER REAR (SURROUND) OUTPUT SUB WOOFER CAUTION SEE INSTRUCTION MANUAL FOR CORRECT SETTING.
7 ● Connect the main, center and rear speakers to the speaker output terminals of your amplifier with the provided speak er cords. * The provided speak er cords hav e labels marked FRONT L, FR ONT R, CENTER, REAR L or REAR R. Connect each speaker cord to the corresponding speaker b y follo wing the figure on page 6.
8 Main/center/rear speakers One side of the provided speak er cord has a white broken line and the other side has no line. Connect the (+) terminals on both the speaker and the amplifier using the side with a white broken line . Connect the (–) terminals on both components using the side with no line.
9 m Connecting the subw oofer to speaker output terminals of the amplifier If y our amplifier has only one set of main speaker output terminals Connect the speaker output terminals of the amplifier to the INPUT1 terminals of the subwoofer , and connect the OUTPUT terminals of the subwoofer to the main speak ers.
10 USING THE SUBW OOFER (SW -P201) 1 PO WER switch Set this s witch to the ON position to tur n on the pow er of the subwoof er . When the power of the subw oofer is on, the power indicator belo w the PO WER switch lights up GREEN. Set this switch to the OFF position to turn off the power of the subw oofer .
11 1 Set the V OLUME control to minimum (0). 2 T ur n on the power supply to all the components. 3 Pla y a source and adjust the amplifier’ s volume control to the desired listening le vel. 4 Increase the volume g radually to adjust the volume balance betw een the subwoof er and the main speakers .
