NS-IW280C 2 CONSUMER PRECA UTIONS Read these precautions carefully bef ore installing your NS-IW280C speak ers. Bef ore you begin installation, read this owner’ s manual completely and consult your local b uilding codes. If you hav e any doubt, contact your dealer or a qualified audio/video installer .
NS-IW280C 3 UNP A CKING After unpacking, chec k that the f ollowing items are contained. Stereo F or best stereo performance, install the left and right speakers at equal distance from the listening position. Each speaker should be separ ated by a distance of 6- 10 ft.
NS-IW280C 4 INST ALLA TION 1 P osition the cutout template where you are installing the speaker . Then trace around the template with a pencil. 2 Drill a pilot hole in the center outline you traced. 3 Inser t the bent coat hanger wire into the hole. Then slowly rotate to chec k for an y obstruction.
NS-IW280C 5 6 Connect the speaker cab le to the speaker and your receiv er. Please ref er to page 6, “CONNECTIONS” section f or detailed instructions. 7 Place the speaker into the ceiling and aim the woof er tow ard the primar y listening area by rotating the unit itself .
NS-IW280C 6 CONNECTIONS Connect the push-type input terminals at the rear of the speakers to the speaker output terminals of the receiver . Connect the (+) terminals on the receiver and speakers using the corresponding side of the cab le. Connect the (–) terminals on both components using the other side of the cable.
