1 En Read these precautions carefully bef ore sett ing up y our N S -IC400 speakers. • When mountin g these speak ers, b e sure to work with tw o or more persons f or saf ety .
2 En English S tereo F or best stereo perf or mance, install the left and right speak ers at equal distance from the listening positi on. Each speaker shoul d be separated by a dista nce of 1.8 – 3.0 m (6 – 10 ft). CONTENT S CON S UMER PR ECA UTION S .
3 En PREP ARA TION Home Theater (when us ing as surround speaker s) Use these speak ers f or left and right surround channels . S urround speakers should ideally be plac ed behind the list ening area, at least as f ar apar t as the front speakers and up to 60 additional centimeters (2 additional f eet) apar t per side.

5 En The f ollowing is the recommended procedure f or installing the speakers in a ceiling. Pl ease read it carefully bef ore installation. • Bef ore you begin installat ion, read this owner's manual complet ely and consult your l ocal building codes .
6 En English INST ALLA T ION This is the recommended inst allation procedure when the material of the installation location is plast erboard. How to install 1 P osition the cutout template where you are installing the speake r. 2 T race a line around the templa te with a pencil.
7 En INST ALLA TION 6 Pull the speaker cab le out of the hole which you ha ve cut. • Leave some e xtra lengt h of cable when pulling the cable out. 7 Connect the speaker cab le to the speaker . • F or detailed instructions , refe r to page 9 “CONNECTING Y OUR AMPLIFIER/ RECEIVER ” .
8 En English INST ALLA T ION Tighten screws until the mounting clamps sufficiently grip the ceiling. Tighten the screws firmly to secure the speaker to the ceiling. CA UTION • When tightening th e scre ws, do not screw t oo tightly . This may cause breakage of the mounting cl amps and fracture of the w allboard.
9 En Bef ore making connections , make sure that the amplifier/ receiver is s witched off . • When conn ecting, also re fer to the owner’ s manual of the connected equipment. • Connect the push input terminals at the rear of the speakers to the speaker output terminals of the amplifier/receiver with the speaker cab l es (not included).
