Page 5 Making Connections Use the followin g instructi ons to make the necessary connections requi red to inst all the WorkCentr e M15/M15i. Automatic D ocumen t Feeder (A DF) Tel ephon e Lin e (M15i only ) 1 Ø Connect the Automatic Document Feeder Cable to th e port shown and fasten t he side screws.

Page 7 Inst alling Cartridges 1 Ø Pull t he release latch to open the sid e cover . 2 Ø Open the front c over . 3 Ø Unp ack the new drum cartridge. Be careful not to touch the surf ace of the drum. Ø Slide the drum cartri dge into the slot on ri ght side of the opening.
Page 8 4 Ø Remove the st arter toner cart ridge fr om it s p ackaging. Ø Gently sh ake the cartridge t o loosen t he toner . Shaking t he cartridge will ensure maximum copies per cart ridge. 5 Ø T urn the t oner locki ng le ver upwards. Ø Slide t he new toner cartridge i n until i t locks in place.
Page 9 Loading Paper 1 Ø Pull open the p aper cas sette. Ø Push down on the pressur e plate unti l it locks into posi tion. 2 Ø Adjust t he rear p aper guide to the requir ed paper length . It i s preset t o A4 or 8. 5 x 1 1" size depend ing on country .

Page 14 Setting the Local ID and Name (M15i only) In some coun tries it is requir ed by law to ind icate the f ax number on any fa x sent. The System I D cont aining th e tele phone number and a name (or comp any name) will be print ed at the top of each page sent from the machine.

Page 16 Setting the Date and T ime (M15i only) The curr ent time and d ate are shown on t he display when the machine is on and re ady for f axing. The time and dat e are pri nted on all faxes sen t. Foll ow the instr uctions below to set the da te and time.
Page 17 Inst alling Software Inst alling the dr ivers and othe r software will enabl e PC printing. Ensure the WorkCentre M15/ M15i is p lugged in and connected t o the computer ’s p arallel or USB p ort befor e inst alling software fro m the CD. Note: W indows 95 and W indows NT 4.
