quick use guide 5 S witch On the Machine Once the machine has been asse mbled it must be configured. This is done usin g the Product Enablement Key w hen the machine is switched on for the f irst time. The Product Enablement Ke y is delivered in a plastic tube inside the box with the machine.

Job Status Use to view the current job status and other job queues. Machine Status Use to access machine in formation, status, Serial Number and to print reports.
quick use guide 9 Load P aper into the P aper T ra ys 1 Open the paper tr ay and load paper into the tra y. Do NOT fill abov e the Max line. 2 Adjust the guides to hold the pape r against the right side of the tr ay. 3 When you cl ose the tr ay, the P aper Settings screen will disp lay.
10 quick use guide C onnecting to the Network Follow these instructions to conne ct the machine to an Ethern et TCP/IP network. If you are connecting your ma chine to a di fferent type of network, or you wish to use other protocols, refer to the System Administr ation CD .

NOTE: If you do not see the E-mail button on the Services Home screen, enable E-mail in the Tools Path w ay.

quick use guide 15 F ax Setup The WorkCentre 4260 X and XF Series conf iguration has Fax installed as standard. The Fax Kit will require setup when the machine is installed. Setting up the F ax Kit 1 Set up the F ax Kit using the instructions in the Kit.

quick use guide 17 Serv er F ax The Server Fax feature enab les Users to send documents to one or more fax machines via the telephone network without having a dedicated telephon e line connected to the machine This is achie ved by connecting the machine to a network Fa x Server which can manage fax transmissi ons throughout an organisation.
18 quick use guide Making C opies 1 Load the documents to be copied either f ace up in the Document F eeder or f ace down to the rear left corner of the Document Glass. 2 Pr ess the Services Home button and then Copy . The Co py screen will be display ed.
quick use guide 19 Additional C opy F eatur es R educe / Enlarge Originals can be reduced or en larged between 25% and 400%. To use this option, select the Copy tab. Select any one of the preset reduce/enlarge ratios or select More t o access custom setting s.

quick use guide 21 Additional P rint F eatures Rota te ima ge This feature enables you to rotate the page through 180 degrees. To use this option, click th e Advan ced tab and click on Image Options . Select Enabled to rotate page images 180 degrees from their current orientation.
22 quick use guide Sending a F ax NOTE: This feature is only av ailable on the WorkCentre 4260 X/XF configuration. 1 Load the documents to be f axed either f ace down on the Docu ment Glass or f ace up into the Document F eeder. 2 Pr ess the Services Home button and choose the Fax option.
quick use guide 23 NOTE: To confirm the Fax job, press the Job Status button on the Control Panel to display the Job Status screen. Th e queued job will be displayed.
24 quick use guide Additional F ax F e atur es Delay ed s end This feature enab les you to specify the time the fax is transmitted. This option can be used to delay tr ansmission of a fax job to an off- peak period to reduce the cost of the call. To use this option, select the Fax Options tab.
quick use guide 25 Network Sc anning Network Scanning enables you to scan your hard copy docu ments and store them as electronic files. 1 Load the documents to be scanned either f ace down on the Document Glass or f ace up into the Document F eeder. 2 Pr ess the Services Home button on the Con trol P anel.

Your workflow will be more efficient if you c reate specific templates for your most frequent scann ing jobs.
