Operation 3-4 975-0057-01-01 Using the light The XPower Powerpack has a built in incandescent light which will operate for about 30 hours before the unit needs to be recharged. The ON/OFF switch is located beneath the light. The light can be adjusted up and do wn by pushing against the top or bottom of the ri m around the l ens.

They may have high sur ge requirements or should not be run from the XPower Powerpack . See “High Sur g e Appliances” on page 3–6 and “T rouble Applianc es” on page 3–6 .
Operation 3-6 975-0057-01-01 High Surg e Appliances The wattage rating of AC app liances is the average power used by the appliance. Appliances such as televisions , computer monitors and app liances with motors consume much mo re power than their averag e rating wh en they are first switched on.

Operation 3-8 975-0057-01-01 Operating 12 V DC Appliances The XPower Powerpack can operate 12 V DC auto, R V , marine, or other portable appliances th at draw 12 A or less from a 12 V DC power outlet or from a vehicle’ s lighter socket.

Using the Air Compressor: XP ower P owerpack 400 Plus 975-0057-01-01 3-15 T o inflate your vehicle, motor cycle, or bicycle tir es: 1. Place the valve connector secure ly on the tire valve stem, push it as far as possible to allow normal airflow , and close the thumb latch.

OR If necessary , use a supplied nozzle adaptor . 2. Choose the appropriate nozzle adaptor , insert the nozzle adaptor into the valve stem and cl ose the thumb latch.
Connecting to an Ext ernal Battery 975-0057-01-01 3-17 Connecting to an External Battery Y ou can extend battery opera ting times by connecting the XPower Powerpack to a larger external battery . For example, an external 60 Ah battery gives app roximately four times the operating time of the XPower Powerpack internal 20 Ah battery .

Connect the cables to the Jump-Start Cable Port on the left side of the XPower Powerpack . 2. Connect the red positive (+) clip of the cables to the red positive (+) terminal of the external battery .

Recharging the XP ower P owerpack Battery 975-0057-01-01 4-3 Recharging with the A C Charger Rechar ging with the AC Char ger is a true “plug-in-and- forget” char ging method. T o recharge with the AC Charger: 1. Disconnect an y 12 V DC appliance and turn the l ight switch to Off.
Maintenance 4-4 975-0057-01-01 Once the battery is fully char ged, the charging voltage and current automatically re duces to a maintenance level and the XPower Powerpack may be left permanently connected to the AC Charger . If your utility power is interrupted , the char ging pro cess automatically restarts when power returns.
Recharging the XP ower P owerpack Battery 975-0057-01-01 4-5 T o recharge the XPower Powerpack while you drive using the DC Charging Cable: 1. While the vehicle engi ne is running, plug on e end of the DC Charging Cable into the DC Power Socket of the XPower Powerpack .

Replacing the Internal Battery 975-0057-01-01 4-7 Recharging Fr om a Solar P a nel Small, unregulated 12 V sola r panels rated to pro duce a maximum of 2.5 A (or 30 W) can be used to charge the XPower Powerpack through the Charger Input Socket. Y ou will need to purchase a standard 5.

Replacing the Internal Battery 975-0057-01-01 4-9 Before attempting to replace the internal battery , make sure you: • Disconnect any char ging cables, 12 V DC appliances, and AC appliances from the XPower Powerpack . • T urn of f the AC Outlet On/Of f switch and turn off t he light switch.
