5 1. Introduction Thank you for purchasing X-Micro WLAN 11b mini USB Adapter. You are about to install a networking system that is not only fast and powerful, but also easy to set up and simple to maintain.
6 2. Wireless LAN basics Wireless LAN network defined by IEEE 80 2.1 1b standard committee could be configured as: • Ad Hoc wireless LAN, or • Infrastructure wireless LAN. Ad Hoc network is a group of notebooks wit h wireless LAN PC card called a BSS (Basic Service Set).

Windows Inst allation Before Y ou St art T o use the X-Micro WLAN 1 1b mini U SB Adapter with a comp uting device, the X-Micro WLAN 1 1b mini USB Adapter mu st be equipped with an USB 1.1 or 2.0 Interface. All drivers and supporting soft ware for the X-Micro WLAN 1 1b mini USB Adapter must be l oaded and configured.
8 3.1 Inst all Driver/Utility S tep 1. Please insert the Device CD Windows XP/2000 was automatically running autorun. The Welcome dialog as below , please click Next S tep 2.

10 3.2 Configuration Utility There are two different utility to confi gure you wireless setting on XP , although we provide another choice, but in functi onal, both of them are similar . Y ou can choose any one of them, which you more like or convenience to use.
11 3.2.2 Configured at “SiS advanced configuration ” We provide another wireless setting utilit y for Windows (2000/me/98SE) use. Of course, XP version already prepar ed. Every function is the same like Windows 2k version. The Configuration T ab contains several fields where operating p a rameters of the driver can be viewed or changed.
