3 PRE-DELIVERY SERVICE OF MOWER BY DEALER Before proceeding with the Pre-Delivery Service of your mower, please read the safety instruction s manual in its entirety. Only your authorized Wright dealer should perform the Pre-Delivery Service of the mower.
4 Before testing the blade clutch/br ake operation, m ake sure the area is clear and t here is nothing v ulnerable to possible thrown objects fro m under the mower. No one shou ld be near the mow er deck or in its l ine of discharge at t his or at any t ime.
5 SAFETY I NSTRUCTIONS WRIGHT MOWER USERS & OWNERS: READ THIS MANUAL BEFORE USING PLEASE BE CAREFUL! Introduction This mower is bui lt to the highest standards in t he industry. However, carelessness or operator error may result in ser ious bodily injury or death.
6 WA RNING User Clothing DO NOT operate the mower while wearing san dals, tennis shoes, snea kers, or shorts. Always wear long non-baggy pants. W ear high-top leather steel-to ed work boots with t hick, textured t read, soft-rubber soled at all ti mes.
7 Initial Operating S afety Guidelines • Read and understand t he warnings on the instrument panel o f the mow er. • Keep a firm hold on t he stationary handle at all times. • Keep both feet on the f oot platfor m at all times. • Know the controls a nd how to stop quickly.
8 Zero-Radius Turn Operation During zero-rad ius turns (when one mower whee l rotates backwards while the ot her rotates forw ard) drive extra slow ly to reduce the poss ibility of losing traction, or contro l, or becoming dizzy . This will help prevent y ou from being throw n off the mower.

10 OPERATI NG INSTRUCT IONS If you are not completely familiar with the Safety Instruction Manual read it now before proceeding with the operation of the mower. REMEMBER THERE ARE CERTAIN PRECAUTIONS LISTED IN THIS MANUAL THAT YOU MUST NOW TAKE BEFORE STARTING THE MOWER.
11 brake. The higher engine speed w ill make the controls much more responsive and the mower much quicker; Use caution if it is your first ti me. Now try moving the hand control levers, one at a time, very slightly, forward and backward.
12 How to A djust Neutral Neutral refers to the mower movement when t he engine is set to full throttle, parking br ake is off, and the control levers are in the neutral p osition. The mower should not move forward or backward durin g this time. If the m ower is moving forward or rearward, the neutra l setting must be adjusted.
13 How to Test/Us e the Blade Clutch/ Brake Switch Before testing the b lade clutch/bra ke operation, make sure the area is clear and there i s nothing vulnerable to thrown objects fro m under the mower. No one should be ne ar the mower deck or in its line of discharge.

15 Spring platform Adjustment The factory sett ing is both spring s set at the most forward position. The more rearward the spring position, the stif fer the plat form gets. Adjust ment will be to preferen ce of feel. The tw o adjustment springs should at all times, be positioned next to each other not one forward or back more than t he other.
16 port. Use fully synthetic oil: Mobil1 15 W -5 0. W ith the bypass v alves open and the engin e running, slowly move t he control lev ers back and forth fiv e or six times. Now close the bypass valves and with the engine ru nning, slowly move the control levers back and fort h five or six times.
