Preparing Y our Phone For U se 1 Pr epar ing Y our Phone Fo r U se Inser t ing a SIM Card 1. Push the b ack cov er latch forward to release the back cover . 2. Slide the SIM card in under the metal pl ate in the SIM card slot. Ensure that the cut corner is at the top left and the metal contacts face the phone.
2 Preparing Y our Phone For Use A SIM card can be easily damaged if it s metal co ntacts b ecome scratched. Therefore, t ake special care when holding or inserting it. If you wish to remove the SIM card, you must first press down the stay , then push the SIM card out of the SIM card slot.
Preparing Y our Phone For U se 3 Installing a Batter y 1. With the batter y's metal contacts fa cing downwards, align the protruding t ab on the batt ery's end with the hole i n the batte ry bay . Then push the battery towar d the end of the ba y to inse rt the battery tab into the hole.
4 Preparing Y our Phone For Use Placing the Back Co ver Align the tabs on the inside le ft edge of the back co ve r with the holes on the left edge of the p hone. Then place the back co ver onto the phone 's back until the latch catc hes the cove r .

Once the pho ne is fu lly char ged, remove t he char ger from bot h the powe r outlet and the phone. • It take s approximately 4 hours to full y charge a battery . • When charging whi le the phone is turned off , an animated ba ttery icon will be shown on the display .

Preparing Y our Phone For U se 7 Tu r n i n g t h e P h o n e O n 1. Long-press to turn the phone on. The phone will show the welcome di splay and pla y the welcome melody . In this user manual, "l ong-press" means to press and hold down a key for about two seconds before release .
8 Preparing Y our Phone For Use 4. The idle screen will be displa yed, as well as netw ork signal strength and the name of your netw ork operator . Y ou can now use the phone. If the phone is not able to detect the designated ne twork, or l inks to a network that you are not author ized to use, the sig nal strength meter will show no bars.

Using Y our Phone 31 Phone Book Adding C ontacts to the Phone Book Y ou can store up to 500 entries in the ph one memory . The capa city of a phone book on your SIM card depends on the type of SIM card provided by your network opera tor . 1. In the idle screen, ent er the phone nu mber to sa ve, then pr ess ( Sav e ).

Using Y our Phone 37 U sing the MP3 Play er T o turn on the phone's MP3 player , press ( MP3 ) from the idle screen or long-p ress the MP3 pla yer button on the left side of t he phone. If the SIM card is not inserte d, long-pressing the MP3 player butt on will turn the MP3 player on.

A profile is a g roup of settings that determine whet her the phone wi ll alert you to inc oming calls thr ough a ring tone or a vibrating alert, and how ring t ones in general are used on t he phone.
