F or the best results, please read this manual through carefully as it is yo ur guide through the control menus and operation.

14 Positioning your projector English Pr ojection dimensions Installation for a 16:9 ratio screen The screen aspect ratio is 16:9 and the projected picture is 16:9 The above numbers are approxim ate and may be slightly different from the actual measurements.

16 Positioning your projector English Shifting the pr ojection lens The lens shift control pr ovides flexibility for instal li ng your projector . It al lows the projector to be positioned off the center of the screen. The lens shift is expressed as a p ercentage of the projected image height or w idth.
17 Connecting with video equipment English Co nnecting w ith v ideo equipment Y ou can connect the projector to any typ e of v ideo equipment, such as a V CR, DVD player , digital tuner , cable or satellite decoder , v ideo game console or dig i tal camera.
18 Connecting with video equipmen t English Connecting co mponent-v ideo dev ices Be sure to match the corresponding colors between the cables and the terminals . The RCA type component video ja cks are pro vided for connect ion to video output dev ices.
19 Connecting with video equipment English Connecting a c omputer Connect the p roject or to a c ompute r with a V GA cable. Many laptops do not turn on their external video ports when connected to a pro jector . Usually a key combination like Fn + F3 o r CRT/LCD key turns the extern al display on/off.

If not already in, plug the supplied po wer cable into the A C inlet on the rear o f the projecto r . 3. Plug the pow er cable into a wall po wer outlet and t urn the wall switch on.
21 Using the projector English Selecting an input sourc e The projec tor can be connected to mul tiple equi pment at the same time. When the projector is first turn ed on, i t w il l at tem pt to recon ne ct with the input source which was in use when the projector w as last shut down.
22 Using the projector English Us i n g t h e m e n u s The projector is equipped with multilingual On -Screen Display (OSD) menus for making var ious adjustments and s ettings. Below is the ov er v iew of the OSD menu. T o use the OSD menus, please set the OSD menu to y our familiar language.
23 Using the projector English U tilizing the password function For security pu rposes and to help prevent unauthor ized use, the projector includes an option for se tting up password security . The password can be set throug h the On-Screen Displa y (OSD) menu.
24 Using the projector English Entering the password r ecall procedur e 1. Mak e sure the Inp ut Passw ord page is displayed on screen. Press MODE . The projector will display a coded number on the screen. 2. W r ite down the number and turn off your projector .
25 Using the projector English A djusting the pr ojected image A djusting the projection angle There are four adjuster feet on the bottom of the projector . These can be us ed i f ne cess ar y to cha ng e the proj ec ti on angle. Screw the feet in or out as appropriate to aim and le vel the projection angle.
26 Using the projector English Correcting picture dist or tion K e ystoning occurs when the projector is not per pendicular to the screen and is w here the projected picture displays visible as a trap ezoid shape lik e either of the following: • T wo paralle l sides (left and r ight, or top and bottom) but is noticeably wider on either side.
27 Using the projector English U sing the preset and user modes Selecting a preset mode The projector is preset w ith several pre-define d picture modes so that you can choose one to suit your operating en vironment and input sour ce pictur e ty pe.
28 Using the projector English Setting the U ser 1/U ser 2 mode There are two user -definable mode s if the current avai lable picture modes are not suitable for your need. Y ou can use on e of the picture modes (exc ept the selec ted U ser mode ) as a starting point and cu stomize the settings.
2 9 U si ng t he pr oj ect or English Fine-tuning the picture quality No matter what picture mode you have selected, you are able to fine-tune those s ettings to fit e ve r y presentation purp ose. Those a djustments w ill be saved to the preset mode you are at w hen you exit the OSD menu.

32 Using the projector English Color Management In most installation situations, color management wil l not be necessary , such as in classroom, meeting room, or lounge room situations where lig hts remain on, or where building external w indows allow daylight into the room.
33 Using the projector English Setting 3D Comb Filter This feature separates composite sign al to Y (brightness) sig nal and C (color) signal, and can help produce clear er and sharper images w ith cor rec t co lor s in pl ace.
34 Using the projector English 3. Letter B ox ( LB ): Scales a picture to fit the projecto r’ s native resol ution in its hori zontal width and resize the pictu re ’ s heig ht to the 3/4 of the projection w idth.
35 Using the projector English Hiding the image In order to draw the audience's full attention to the presenter , you can use BLANK to hide the screen image. When th is function is ac tivated with an audio input connected, the audio can still be heard.
36 Using the projector English A djusting the sound The sound adjustments made as below will hav e an effe ct on the projector speaker(s). Be sure you ha ve made a correct connection to the p rojector audio input. See "Connecting with video equipment" on page 17 for how the audio input is connect ed.
